The Korsakoff project was started by Bart Kok in 2001, in order to release more melodic and mainstream-oriented material than with his main alias Catscan. Bart first used the fake identity of Jeroen Kanon to sign the Korsakoff tracks.
In 2004, when Bart left the Third Movement label to found the Pro Artist Management label together with DJ X-Ess, the Korsakoff project started being fronted by van der Eng. Since then she appears on the covers of Korsakoff releases and performs deejaying as DJ Korsakoff, but at the beggining, most tracks were composed and produced by Bart (sometimes with Outblast).
Nowadays she produces the tracks by herself and Korsakoff is only Lindsay van der Eng.
Korsakoff’s first became known in 2004 when she and Dj Outblast produced the official Masters Of Hardcore anthem: “Unleash the Beast”. Unleash the Beast was broadcasted on television network The Box as a promotional stunt for Masters Of Hardcore. That year things developed pretty fast, as she was booked to play at some of the biggest hardcore events; Thunderdome, Masters Of Hardcore and BASSLEADER.
Daydream
Korsakoff Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Oh you're my daydream nightmare
I'm holding out for holding on
So love me if you dare
Into your arms I always run
Inside my daydream nightmare
When I awake you′re always gone
Where you belong
Fight for you-you! Gimme some more!
Fight for you-you! You-you suck!
Fight for you-you!
The lyrics to Korsakoff's "Daydream" are about a person who views their love interest as their daydream and nightmare. The person is holding onto their love interest, even though they are not always present. The lyrics also suggest that the person is aware that their love interest may be detrimental to their well-being, but regardless of the consequences, they are willing to fight for their love.
The phrase "daydream nightmare" in the first verse refers to the person's love interest. The person is constantly dreaming of being with their love interest, but also experiences a form of torment in their absence. They long for their love, but once they wake up from their dream, their love is not present. The lyrics "I'm holding out for holding on" suggests that the person is trying to hold onto their love, even though it may not be good for them.
The repeated phrase "fight for you" throughout the song implies that the person is willing to fight for their love no matter what the cost. The last line "you-you suck" could indicate that the person is frustrated with their love interest, but still wants to fight for them.
