Kosheen achieved international success with their debut single Hide U, which reached #6 in UK official chart. Their debut album "Resist" (released in 2001), a powerful mixture of drum'n'bass, trip-hop, chillout, hip-hop-inspired beats and traditional singer-songwriter production, was warmly accepted by both critics and audience and later went "platinum" in the UK.
With their second LP "Kokopelli", Kosheen changed their music style and turned to more rock-oriented tunes mixed with electronica & trip-hop. The first single from the album, "All In My Head", became a huge hit, reached #7 in UK chart and the album went "gold".
Kosheen are also known for their classy gigs, gathering thousands of people from all over the world. The band's live sound is slighty different from their studio production. They have just finished a successful UK tour and are performing throughout Europe to December 07. Live they are augmented by Mitch Glover on live drums and Gary Eccles on keys (on session)
Sian was involved in some side projects, including collaborations with Bent (tracks "I Can’t Believe It’s Over" and "Sunday Boy" on Bent’s cd "Ariels") and Cajun jazz band Root Doctors. Her vocals can also be heard on Decoder’s composition “Defenseless” (off his “Dissection” album), recorded before Kosheen was formed.
The band's third album "Damage" was released in the UK on Moksha on 10th September 2007. Damage is a mixture of inspirations from electronic influence from "Resist" and guitar tunes from "Kokopelli". The sound of "Damage" mixes elements of dark electro, synthpop, downtempo, vocal, electronica.
Kosheen has announced a new release for February 2012 called: Independence. Samples & full versions of tracks (Waste, Belladonna) appearing on this can be found @ Soundcloud.

Crawling
Kosheen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But not so haunted
Eyes like the sea
In storm
In torment
How can a body so frail
Contain this spirit
This creature I see
We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (oh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know
He looks right through me
So unprotected
His only legacy
Returned
Rejected
So young so free
So old and ridden
Oh what you see
We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (oh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know
He's nothing like me
So wrong and wretched
Your safe reality
Is living in sketches
And live out happiness
With no explanation
And peer out at the world
We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (oh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know
(He looks like me
But not so haunted
Eyes like the sea
In storm
In torment
How can a body so frail
Contain this spirit
This creature I see)
The lyrics of the song "Crawling" by Kosheen are open to a lot of interpretation as they could be about different things such as mental illness, self-discovery, and rescue. In the first verse, the singer describes a person who looks like them but has a stronger spirit that is not easily contained despite having a frail body.
In the second verse, she describes someone who looks through her and is unprotected. This person has been rejected and had their legacy taken away from them. The singer also contemplates the complexities of the human experience, particularly how someone can be so young and free before being weighed down by age and responsibility.
In the chorus, the lyrics portray someone who has faced a significant challenge but has been able to overcome it and reach their desired destination. They have come out on the other side, but they're not separated from the people who haven't yet found their way. In the last verse, there's an allusion to them rescuing someone from their wrong or wretched selves. This person is living in a safe reality but isn't able to experience genuine happiness without an explanation.
In summary, the lyrics of the song "Crawling" by Kosheen could be interpreted to mean that through the singer's journey, which was fraught with challenges but eventually led to her overcoming them and finding the strength to rescue someone else, she has learned that true happiness can never be attained by living a shallow existence.
