Kosheen achieved international success with their debut single Hide U, which reached #6 in UK official chart. Their debut album "Resist" (released in 2001), a powerful mixture of drum'n'bass, trip-hop, chillout, hip-hop-inspired beats and traditional singer-songwriter production, was warmly accepted by both critics and audience and later went "platinum" in the UK.
With their second LP "Kokopelli", Kosheen changed their music style and turned to more rock-oriented tunes mixed with electronica & trip-hop. The first single from the album, "All In My Head", became a huge hit, reached #7 in UK chart and the album went "gold".
Kosheen are also known for their classy gigs, gathering thousands of people from all over the world. The band's live sound is slighty different from their studio production. They have just finished a successful UK tour and are performing throughout Europe to December 07. Live they are augmented by Mitch Glover on live drums and Gary Eccles on keys (on session)
Sian was involved in some side projects, including collaborations with Bent (tracks "I Can’t Believe It’s Over" and "Sunday Boy" on Bent’s cd "Ariels") and Cajun jazz band Root Doctors. Her vocals can also be heard on Decoder’s composition “Defenseless” (off his “Dissection” album), recorded before Kosheen was formed.
The band's third album "Damage" was released in the UK on Moksha on 10th September 2007. Damage is a mixture of inspirations from electronic influence from "Resist" and guitar tunes from "Kokopelli". The sound of "Damage" mixes elements of dark electro, synthpop, downtempo, vocal, electronica.
Kosheen has announced a new release for February 2012 called: Independence. Samples & full versions of tracks (Waste, Belladonna) appearing on this can be found @ Soundcloud.

Back and forth
Back and forth
Back and forth
Is it over now?
Over something that you overheard
It's over dramatized
Over complicated, over here
All your clever talk
Leaves you tongue tied
It's overkill
You wanna fix it with your hands tied
You never will
I don't wanna play this game no more
Back and forth and back
Is it over now?
So tell me how does it feel?
Ah is it over now?
Ah you'll get over me
Ah you'll get over me
Take it easy now
Don't wanna change a thing
Don't want my dirty little feet all over everything
I took my shoes off
So that I wouldn't tread
Over the clean sheets wrapped around that dirty bed
ah, believe me
If I wanted to
Baby, I would bury you
I keep my hands clean
Keep my dignity
I leave it all to you
I don't wanna play this game no more
It's back and forth and back
Is it over now?
So tell me how does it feel?
Ah is it over now?
Ah you'll get over me
Back and forth and back and
Back and forth and back and
Back and forth and back and
Back and forth and back
And back
And back
And back
Is it over now?
So tell me how does it feel?
Ah is it over now?
Ah you'll get over me
Ah you'll get over me
Back and forth and back and
Back and forth and back and
Back and forth and back and
The song 'Overkill' by Kosheen deals with the complexities and intricacies of a romantic relationship. The back and forth nature of the lyrics emphasizes the tension and volatility of the relationship, which appears to be at a breaking point. The opening lines 'Back and forth' repeated throughout the song emphasize the oscillating nature of the relationship, which seems to have reached a dramatic peak. The lyrics "Over something that you overheard," hint at the fact that a misunderstanding or miscommunication has caused the conflict.
The chorus, "It's over dramatized, Over complicated, over here," suggests that the situation has been blown out of proportion and has become more complicated than necessary. The use of repetition in the song highlights the frustration and confusion of the singer in trying to navigate the relationship. The line "All your clever talk leaves you tongue-tied," implies that the other party's manipulation and coercion in the relationship have caused the singer to feel helpless and unable to communicate.
The conflict seems to have reached a point of no return, as the singer insists that they do not want to play this game anymore. The lyrics "Take it easy now, don't wanna change a thing" suggest a sense of resignation and a desire for peace. The line "I don't want my dirty little feet all over everything," emphasizes the need for distance and a sense of cleanliness or purity. The last few lines of the song suggest that the singer has decided to relinquish control and leave the situation to the other party, saying "I keep my hands clean, keep my dignity, I leave it all to you."
