Kosheen achieved international success with their debut single Hide U, which reached #6 in UK official chart. Their debut album "Resist" (released in 2001), a powerful mixture of drum'n'bass, trip-hop, chillout, hip-hop-inspired beats and traditional singer-songwriter production, was warmly accepted by both critics and audience and later went "platinum" in the UK.
With their second LP "Kokopelli", Kosheen changed their music style and turned to more rock-oriented tunes mixed with electronica & trip-hop. The first single from the album, "All In My Head", became a huge hit, reached #7 in UK chart and the album went "gold".
Kosheen are also known for their classy gigs, gathering thousands of people from all over the world. The band's live sound is slighty different from their studio production. They have just finished a successful UK tour and are performing throughout Europe to December 07. Live they are augmented by Mitch Glover on live drums and Gary Eccles on keys (on session)
Sian was involved in some side projects, including collaborations with Bent (tracks "I Can’t Believe It’s Over" and "Sunday Boy" on Bent’s cd "Ariels") and Cajun jazz band Root Doctors. Her vocals can also be heard on Decoder’s composition “Defenseless” (off his “Dissection” album), recorded before Kosheen was formed.
The band's third album "Damage" was released in the UK on Moksha on 10th September 2007. Damage is a mixture of inspirations from electronic influence from "Resist" and guitar tunes from "Kokopelli". The sound of "Damage" mixes elements of dark electro, synthpop, downtempo, vocal, electronica.
Kosheen has announced a new release for February 2012 called: Independence. Samples & full versions of tracks (Waste, Belladonna) appearing on this can be found @ Soundcloud.

Under Fire
Kosheen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Give me reasons to remember
Summer trees are stripped and almost bare
It's a late September
Come the sun to kiss it better
Thank god for understanding
It looked like you were under fire
I know the love was never true
The moment we refused to fight
It seemed that I was never right
Walking another sleepless dream
And now everything I leave behind
I leave
For you
Look in to the mirror, what am I?
A frightened creature, locked inside
My mother's hair, my father's eyes
Memories time rearranged for you
As everything changed for you
Did they make it better?
Thank god for understanding
It seemed that we were under you
It looked like you were under fire
It seemed the love was never true
The moment we refused to fight
I know that I was never right
Walking another sleepless dream
And everything I leave behind
I leave
For you
The lyrics to Kosheen's song Under Fire tell a story of reflection and introspection. The first verse speaks of looking out a window and appreciating the beauty of the moment, even in the midst of the changing seasons. Then the lyrics delve into a deeper contemplation of oneself and the memories and traits inherited from loved ones. The chorus speaks of feeling like one is under attack or scrutiny, possibly in a relationship or personal situation. The love in the situation is called into question and it seems the decision was made to not fight for it, leading to regret.
The second verse continues the introspection, with the singer examining themselves in a mirror and feeling like a scared creature locked inside. The memories of loved ones are rearranged and questioned as well, as the lyrics ask if they made things better. The chorus is repeated in a poignant way, with the regrets of not fighting for what was believed in weighing heavy on the singer's heart. The final lines of the song show a determination to move forward but always keeping the past in mind and leaving it behind for someone else to own.

Breathtaking piece. Without a doubt the most startling & timeless piece on the album that goes WAY beyond the Dance shit they pumped out later.
