Mania
Kotiteollisuus Lyrics

päiviä,
hiljaisia hetkiä
ei ole
on vain taakka,
jonka paino
alkaa olla liikaa
aurinkoa, kuuta, hiljaisuutta
elämän kehässä
selittämätöntä kiihkoa,
toivoa, halua
Maniamaniamaniamaniamaniamania
maniamaniamaniamaniamaniamania
maniamaniamaniamaniamaniamania
mania
Polkuja,
joita voisin kulkea
on liikaa,
en muista
mistä olen tulossa,
minne menossa
Ja joskus pääni sisällä
naksahtaa jotain, ja minä muistan
rivitaloasunnon,
vaimon, koiran ja lauantai-illat!
The lyrics to Kotiteollisuus' song Mania express the feeling of being weighed down by the burden of life and the desire to escape from it. The first verse describes the singer's lack of peace and quiet, with days and nights blending together into an endless cycle of monotony. The burden starts to become too much for them to bear, and they long for something more than what life has given them so far. The second verse describes the singer's desperate attempt to find a way out of their current situation. They dig deep into their memories and search for anything that can bring them solace - sunshine, the moon, and silence. They yearn for something unexplainable, a passion or desire that they cannot name.
The chorus of the song, which consists of the repeated word "mania," represents the singer's increasing mental turmoil as they struggle to escape their present circumstances. They long for clarity and meaning, but instead, they are trapped in a cycle of madness and uncertainty. The final verse describes the singer's search for a path out of their current situation. They are overwhelmed by the many options available to them, and they cannot remember where they came from or where they are going. Their past life - a suburban home, a wife, a dog, and quiet Saturday nights - seems distant and unattainable. The song ends with the same repetition of "mania," emphasizing the singer's entrapment in their current state of mind.

Are too many,

Ja joskus pääni sisällä
And sometimes in my head,

Something clicks and I remember

vaimon, koiran ja lauantai-illat!
Wife, dog, and Saturday nights!
