With Krept growing up in Gipsy Hill and Konan growing up in Thornton Heath, they started in their neighbourhoods from an early age. As time went on krept and konan became friends outside of music and in due time realised we both had a musical talent in mc/rapping. It was then only a matter of time when they both came together to make a few songs for the fun of it. The songs had the streets going crazy, everybody had them on their phones, it is then when they realised their music potential. Unfortunately later down the line in 2007 konan went into incarceration for a whole year which had a major effect on their music path. Krept did not concentrate on music during konan’s incarceration, and at this point music was not in the picture for either of them. However in 2008 Konan was then released from jail and music was still not in the picture for either krept or konan.
A few weeks after konan’s release a friend of both krept and konan had a studio who occasionally invited them round to make tracks here and there. As these tracks were released their fanbase began to grow again it was then when they both decided to put more effort into the music. The two then started doing music videos, freestyle videos and releasing more tracks as time went on and the fanbase continued to grow. Both krept and konan then released a mixtape together called “Redrum” which was made due to high demand. At this point it was clear to everyone that krept and konan became a duo in the music scene, and at this moment all they were missing was a name. This is where Krept and konan both came to the decision of the name “Play Dirty”. They are now an official group which will be expanding in the future to more artists producers etc..
Wait Up For Me

Late night phone calls
Thinking 'bout the last time
We was waking up the neighbours and she
Left the earring on the table
I know you did that on purpose
You've got work in the morning
But I'll be there in a minute
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me
(This type of love
Don't come so easy
This type of love
Don't come so easy)
Don't fall asleep on me
Wait for me to come so you can fall asleep on me
I'll be down in a minute
We can do it for an hour and I mean it
Might take you for some late dinners
Restaurants so plush you've gotta take pictures
Might buy a girl Drake tickets
Then fuck her to some Drake lyrics
You know how it goes
Thinks I've got chicks on the low
You know a girl's favourite line?
"Go and text your little hoes"
Do it to her like no other
I last long, I've got more thorough
I know you need some company
So just make sure you're waiting up for me
I've got her running up her phone bill
Late night phone calls
Thinking 'bout the last time
We was waking up the neighbours and she
Left the earring on the table
I know you did that on purpose
You've got work in the morning
But I'll be there in a minute
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me
(This type of love
Don't come so easy
This type of love
Don't come so easy)
I'm just tryna get you naked
Small waist and I ain't gonna waste it
It's getting late, you've been waiting up for ages
She call me babe, girl you know that I hate pigs
Coming from the show, it's a late one
Say I got next girls, can't name one
Now you're talking 'bout groupies
But what's the point of having fans if you ain't one?
(Behave!)
Too busy tryna catch me out on the 'Gram
Said I'll be a minute but she knows I never am
And even though I lie to her, she knows where she stands
When I get you out them damn covers
It's winter time, she got an Ann Summers
I know you want some company (girl)
So just make sure you waiting up for me (girl)
I've got her running up her phone bill
Late night phone calls
Thinking 'bout the last time
We was waking up the neighbours and she
Left the earring on the table
I know you did that on purpose
You've got work in the morning
But I'll be there in a minute
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me, don't sleep
Don't sleep
So you better wait up for me
You're waiting
Waiting
There's plenty love for you, plenty love for you
There's plenty love for you
You're waiting
Waiting
There's plenty love for you, plenty love for you
There's plenty love for you
Plenty love I have for you, I've been waiting
Plenty love I have for you, I've been waiting
Plenty love I have for you, I've been waiting
Plenty love I have for you, I've been waiting
In Krept & Konan's song "Wait Up For Me," they talk about a late-night phone conversation with their lover. Throughout the song, they express their desire to be with their lover, despite the fact that they have work early in the morning. They mention that they will be there soon, asking their lover to wait up for them. Despite the late hour, they have plans for their time together, such as going out for a late dinner or going to a Drake concert. The song emphasizes the type of love that is hard to come by and that waiting for someone you love is always worth it.
The song's lyrics show a strong desire for human connection and intimacy in the modern era, where communication is often done through social media and technology. The use of Drake references in the song also shows how the rapper's music is relatable for young audiences and their experiences. The song opens with the verse, "I've got her running up her phone bill, Late night phone calls, thinking about the last time," which could imply that this is a long-distance relationship where they communicate primarily via the phone.
In some ways, "Wait Up For Me" is a ballad of a relationship that stays strong despite distance and lack of time together. The song reinforces the importance of waiting for someone you love and the patience required for a long-term commitment.
