Ia adalah suami dari seorang Vietnam yaitu Maria Nguyen Kim Dung, yang kini tinggal di kawasan Cibubur. Ia dilengkapi oleh kehadiran anak-menantu, yaitu Invianto-Henny dan Ceasefiarto-Adelina, serta dua cucu, Iyo dan Rafa.

Kris Biantoro dikenal dengan sebutan master of ceremony atau MC dan ia populer di kalangan masyarakat. Di acara yakni "Dansa yo Dansa" di TVRI. Semasa bersekolah di SMA de Britto, Yogyakarta, tahun 1950-an ia mulai menancapkan cita-cita sebagai penyanyi. pindah ke Jakarta, pernah ikut operasi Trikora, pindah ke Australia (tempat yang mempertemukannya dengan sang istri), sempat menjadi penjual roti di Australia.
