Kristy went on to star in such hit movies as "Little Darlings", "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia", "The End", "Only When I Laugh" (for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination), "The Pirate Movie", and "Just the Way You Are." After a hiatus from acting, she returned to television in the hit NBC sitcom "Empty Nest." She left the show in 1992 when she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
