Krizz Kaliko began his musical career in the late 1990s when he began working with a local producer by the name of IcyRoc Kraven. Another local rapper by the name of Tech N9ne was also collaborating with IcyRoc at the time, which led to the two rappers meeting. Tech N9ne was currently working on a song titled "Who You Came To See" and Krizz made a comment that the song could have a better hook. Tech offered up the opportunity to prove his case, and Tech was blown away when Kaliko proved just that. Tech would bring Kaliko into his "inner circle" which would eventually result in Kaliko signing to the label co-owned by his new found friend.
Since then, Kaliko has often contributed to albums put out by Tech N9ne, be it being featured as a rapper or simply providing background vocals for the tracks on the album. Although the largest portion of his work is that of his collaborations with Tech, he has also performed similar tasks for fellow labelmates Kutt Calhoun, Skatterman & Snug Brim, and Prozak. Other collaborations include tracks with the Kottonmouth Kings, Potluck, E-40, and Twiztid.
His debut album, Vitiligo released in May 6, 2008, charted on several Billboard charts including peaking at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums in the week of May 28, 2008. In the same week, he peaked at number 167 on the Billboard 200.
His second studio album, Genius, was released on July 14, 2009.
Krizz has chosen the title Shock Treatment for his third studio album. Other titles he considered were "Son of Sam" and "Walk on Water."
Krizz Kaliko is married and has a son, both are mentioned in his music.
He also suffers from the disease, Vitiligo, a skin disorder characterized by smooth, white patches on various parts of the body caused by the loss of natural pigment. Several of these patches are clearly visible on his face. He would later use the name of the disease he suffers from as the title for his debut album. Krizz has also been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. On his second album, he titled one of the tracks after the disorder.

Sometimes there's a woman
And sometimes
Damn I forgot what I was sayin'
Let's, let's just have sex
We all need sex!
And it's gonna continue
It's just the animal in you
Just rolling over out of bed
Had to get my head around last night
Can't remember anything I did
Damn, it must've been one of them nights
Had a Becky and a bottle of whiskey
And the sun went down
Think I remember she kissed me
Took a trip downtown
Wutchu say?
We all need sex!
But you don't love it like I do
We all need sex!
And somebody they lie to
We all need sex!
Alright and it's gonna continue
We all need sex!
It's just the animal in you
Just getting out of my car
I couldn't believe it's dark
Sometime I gotta put it in park
When it gets dark
I need a pistol and a bottle of whiskey
And the sun went down
Think I remember she kissed me
Took a trip downtown
I remember, sing it
Wutchu say?
We all need sex!
But you don't love it like I do
We all need sex!
And somebody they lie to
We all need sex!
Alright and it's gonna continue
We all need sex!
It's just the animal in you
Now if you ever got it in the kitchen
Know how to stop it then she gets in
It placed only knew what they was missin'
I remember, sing it
We all need sex!
But you don't love it like I do
We all need sex!
And somebody they lie to
We all need sex!
Alright and it's gonna continue
We all need sex!
It's just the animal in you
Sex, it's what's for dinner
Son Of Sam, rock on
The lyrics of Krizz Kaliko's "W.A.N.S." presents a bold message about the human need for sex. Kaliko sings that sometimes a man wants to have sex, and sometimes a woman wants to have sex, but ultimately, everyone wants it. He admits forgetting what he was saying but emphasizes that sex is an essential part of human life, and it is just the animal instinct in people.
The first verse is about waking up after a night of drinking and possibly engaging in sexual activity with someone he just met. He recalls having a good time despite not remembering much of what happened. The second verse describes the urge to have sex after getting out of the car at night. Kaliko mentions that sometimes, he needs a bottle of whiskey, and his desire for sexual pleasure is an unstoppable force.
The chorus repeats the message that everyone needs sex, but some people don't love it like he does, and others lie about it. The song's outro makes references to the infamous New York serial killer, David Berkowitz, aka Son of Sam, and concludes with the line "sex is what's for dinner." The song is ultimately about celebrating the human desire for sexual intimacy while acknowledging that it can be dangerous if pursued recklessly.
