"I had to walk on the dead bodies, because the ground was too hot. I kept saying "Sorry" to them". - Unnamed Survivor from Hiroshima.

@ameliawright6947

@Catman1324 It's from a film called Rehan, the Journey. Non-fiction film about nuclear war.

@marmolejomartinezjoseemili9043

@Amelia Wright but it doesnt make much sense since the victims were evaporated instantly

@atticusakelly

José Emilio Marmolejo lol do you think every single victim was instantly evaporated?

The wildest thing about this piece to me is that Penderecki didn't write this piece with Hiroshima in mind, like many people seem to think. The piece was originally entitled 8'37". It was an experiment in dynamics, texture and articulation. When he heard it performed for the first time, Penderecki sought an appropriate association for the piece, and decided to dedicate it to the victims of Hiroshima.

I know! That is amazing to me. I have this idea that some composers don't actually make up their music, rather their brains can tune in to a frequency that others can't, and they receive these songs and tunes from nature and from the collective consciousness of mankind.

@@zappababe8577that’s a very beautiful thought and as a musician it does feel like sometimes stuff falls from the heavens to you. Nature and rhythm plays a huge sound too, surround yourself in it and play with it’s cadence and you will find the hidden rhythm all around you

@Zappababe What are you smoking?
