Kumm's debut album "Moonsweat March" appeared in 2000 at Soft Records. It was well received, especially in the art-rock and prog-rock communities. With the second album, "Confuzz" (2002 - Soft Records), and new lead singer Dan Byron, the band definitely crossed the line into alternative rock territory. "Angels & Clowns"(2005) was the band's first release on the Italian label Cramps Records, and found the band experimenting with electronics and baritone sax. The album's release was followed by two Italian tours.
In 2005 Kumm attempted their first tour of Germany, and met their current manager Anja Strub, who went on to organize the band's next European tours. Later that year, singer Dan Byron left the band.
Kumm started rehearsing with singer Catalin Mocan ( formerly of Persona) and composed the material for their fourth album, which was released in 2006. "Different Parties", the band's most adventurous and daring album to date, mixed Mocan's soaring vocals with brutal guitar and saxophone riffs and lushly arranged strings and woodwinds. In 2007, Kumm celebrated their first ten years with a concert at the Bucharest National Opera House, amongst their former band mates and Romania's most interesting rock bands (Timpuri Noi, Luna Amara, ZOB, Travka, The Mood). As a friendly gesture, each one of them played one song by Kumm.
Kumm released on 30 October 2009 their fifth studio album, called "Far From Telescopes", which is considered by some critics as being their best album to date.
Curse
Kumm Lyrics

Curse the times that blow
Curse the times that blow
Cross your heart and soul
I can feel their trace
I can feel their trace
I can feel their trace
Curse the times that run
Curse the times that run
Curse the times that run
Back from where they've come
I can hear the steps
I can hear the steps
I can hear the steps
Breathing down my neck
On and on and on
On and on and on
On and on and on
From the spinning loom
From the fading room
From the sweeping doom
Escape'em on my broom
Curse the times that roll
Curse the times that roll
Curse the times that roll
Over flesh and bone
They will never stop
They will never stop
They will never stop
Always one more drop
On and on and on
On and on and on
On and on and on
From the cold machine
From the marching team
From the magazine
Escape into my dreams
In the song "Curse" by Kumm, the singer expresses a deep frustration with the passing of time and the inevitability of change. The repetition of the lyrics "Curse the times that blow/ run/ roll" highlights a sense of powerlessness and desperation in the face of this unstoppable force. The singer also speaks of feeling the "trace" and hearing the "steps" of time, suggesting a loss of control and an overwhelming sense of foreboding.
The imagery in the lyrics is vivid and evocative, painting a picture of a world in flux. The "spinning loom," "fading room," and "sweeping doom" suggest a landscape that is constantly shifting and changing. The singer seeks escape from this in their "broom" and "dreams," but it is unclear whether this is a realistic option or simply a fantasy.
Overall, "Curse" is a haunting and powerful meditation on the passage of time and the challenges of facing an uncertain future. The song suggests a deep sense of emotional turmoil and an urgent desire for some kind of resolution or escape.
