White Christmas
Kurt Nilsen Lyrics

Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
The lyrics to Kurt Nilsen's cover of "White Christmas" express a deep longing for a traditional, snowy Christmas filled with happy memories of the past. The opening line sets the tone for the rest of the song, as Nilsen dreams of a white Christmas just like the ones he used to know. He remembers the wonder of looking up at the treetops covered in shimmering snow, and the excitement of children listening for the sound of sleigh bells in the wintry night.
The chorus reinforces this nostalgia, as Nilsen wishes that every Christmas card he writes could transport the recipient back to those simpler times. He hopes that everyone's holiday season is filled with joy and merriment, illuminated by the brightness of a snowy landscape. Nilsen ends the song by repeating the chorus, imploring us all to keep dreaming of a white Christmas and to hold onto the hope and happiness that it symbolizes.
