I'm Still Yours
Kutless Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
If You took away my words
If all my world was swept away
Would You be enough for me?
Would my beating heart still sing?
If I lost it all
Would my hands stay lifted
If You take it all
This life You've given
Still my heart will sing to You
When my life is not what I expected
The plans I made have failed
When there's nothing left to steal me away
Will You be enough for me?
Will my broken heart still sing?
If I lost it all
Would my hands stay lifted
To the God who gives
And takes away
If You take it all
This life You've given
Still my heart
Will sing to You
Even if You take it all away
You'll never let me go
Take it all away
But I still know
That I'm Yours
I'm still Yours
Oh, I'm Yours
I'm still Yours
I'm still Yours
The song "I'm Still Yours" by Kutless describes a willingness to surrender everything to God, even if everything we believe is important is taken away. The lyrics suggest the idea of letting go of our vanity and words, and even losing everything we possess, to see if God is enough for us. The song poses the question of whether or not we would keep our faith and continue to praise God if we had nothing left. The chorus emphasizes the importance of maintaining our faith in God even if we lose everything, knowing that we belong to Him.
The message of this song is a powerful and relevant one, especially during times of great loss or uncertainty. It encourages people to trust in God, even in the midst of dire circumstances. By asking these questions, the lyrics encourage listeners to reflect on the nature of their own faith and to contemplate the depth of their commitment to God. The song also highlights the importance of surrendering control and trusting God, even when the path is not what we expected.
