In Me
Kutless Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Where were you when we all went down to the bar
It seems you have changed from us all
It seems you have changed
You want to know, The differences between us
You want to know, why these things have changed
You've got to know the One who lives in me
Only seven days ago
I let go of my life yes I gave it all
I let go of all I use to do and gave it all away
You want to know, The differences between us
You want to know, why these things have changed
You've got to know the One who lives in me
He lives in me, in me
He lives in me, in me He lives
You want to know, The differences between us
You want to know, why these things have changed
You've got to know the One who lives in me
He lives in me, in me
In me, in me
The lyrics of Kutless' song In Me starts with a series of questions asking where the listener was at a certain party, suggesting that the listener has changed from their group of friends. The chorus addresses this change and suggests that the reason for it is the presence of a higher power, the One who lives in the singer. The singer then describes their own personal transformation which occurred just seven days ago when they let go of their old life and gave it all away. The song concludes with a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing the importance of knowing the One who lives in the singer.
The lyrics of the song In Me serve as a testimony to the transformative power of faith in God. The song suggests that once an individual lets go of their old life and embraces God, they will experience significant change. The change that occurs is often noticeable to others, as is evident in the opening lines of the song where the singer is questioning why the listener has changed. Through the lyrics, the singer makes it clear that the One who lives in them, that is God, is the reason for their transformation, and encourages the listener to seek out this higher power for themselves.
