It's Like Me
Kutless Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And we talk of God but still I don't share
So many times that I just never saw the chance
It's like me to never see
When it came, when it went
Now it's gone away
It's so like me to never see
Now it's gone away
The phone rings with news that he's gone
Just the time I shared my heart was prepared and another soul was won
So much truth to tell, I am so glad I saw the chance
It's like me to never see
When it came, when it went
Now it's gone away
It's so like me to never see
When it came, when it went
Now it's gone away
Sometimes I still never see when perfect opportunities come my way
Would my care increase if I truly believed that a life could be saved
It's like me to never see
When it came, when it went
Now it's gone away
It's so like me to never see
When it came, when it went
Now it's gone away
The lyrics of Kutless's song "It's Like Me" express regret over missed opportunities to share the Gospel with others. The singer acknowledges that they have engaged in conversations about God but have failed to actively participate in sharing their faith. They reflect on a missed opportunity to impact someone's life, realizing that they had waited too long to share their heart and that person had passed away. The singer questions why they don't take advantage of opportunities and wonders if they truly believed that a life could be saved, would they care more?
The theme of the lyrics is about recognizing the importance of being a witness to others and not letting opportunities pass by. It's a message that encourages us to step out in faith and share our beliefs with those around us, letting them know about the love of Christ. The lyrics also focus on the idea of regret and the weight of missed chances, with the idea that waiting too long to act can have a real impact on someone's life.
Overall, the message in "It's Like Me" is a call to action to not let chances to share our faith and make a difference in someone's life pass us by. Rather than regretting missed opportunities, we should have faith and boldly share the message of hope that we have received.
