Push Me Away
Kutless Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I see it's something in your eyes
A fear is there
You say you don't need me
Don't try to deceive me
By pulling the wool over my eyes
There's nothing wrong with needing help sometimes
What are friendships for
Don't push me away
Condemn your pride
Sometimes we all need a hand to get by
Don't push me away
Condemn your pride
When tears start to fall then with you I will cry
No one is perfect
It just isn't worth it
To stand on your own
Though fear is there
Don't be ashamed to ask me to help you
To deal with the thoughts
Spinning your head
There's nothing wrong with needing help sometimes
What are friendships for
Now please
You can lean on me
Stand by my side
We will fight
We are much stronger as one
The lyrics of Push Me Away by Kutless revolve around the theme of friendship, support, and the fear of losing that friendship. The singer senses fear in the eyes of their friend, who denies needing any assistance. However, the singer insists that friends should be there for each other, and there is no shame in asking for help when needed. The chorus encourages the friend not to push the singer away due to pride or fear and to understand that tears and hardships are a shared experience in a friendship. The lyrics emphasize that people are imperfect, and it is okay to lean on others' support every once in a while.
The song creates an atmosphere of reassurance, comfort, and understanding. The lyrics convey the message that even though friendships may face ups and downs, the bond should remain strong in the face of hardship. The singer reminds their friend that they can rely on them during tough times and that together, they will emerge stronger.
Overall, Push Me Away is a song that highlights the importance of having a support system and the need to be there for each other during challenging times. The lyrics encourage mutual help and support in a friendship and remind us that it is okay to ask for assistance sometimes.
