In 2002 he played lead role (Biggs) in the film Shottas along with Spragga Benz, Paul Campbell, Louie Rankin, Wyclef Jean, Screechie Bop and many more. It is an original story that shows the life of a shotta/gangster on the streets of Jamaica and Miami.
He achieved even more success as a musician with a cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue, in collaboration with the Fugees' Pras. He has also starred in several films, including Shottas in 2002 and as John the Baptist in the 2004 film Haven.
Remaining true to his Jamaican culture, Ky-mani's fondness for all genres of music influences the work he creates. Ky-mani is an artist with no limits. Incorporating world music, hip hop, blues, rock and a grass roots sound into his music, the end product is the pure representation of life for Ky-mani. The Ky-mani Marley sound is one that transcends cultural lines and prohibits him from being categorized as only a reggae artist. His raw, unadulterated, gruff sound captures the listener and reverberates the essence of Ky-mani's life story.
Ky-mani launched his latest album "Radio" in 2007. The album features several key singles including One Time, The March and Conversation among others. All of the songs contain Marley’s unique sound of classical reggae beats mixed with contemporary hip hop. Also featured on the CD are some of today’s hottest artists including Young Buck, Mya and Gail Gotti.

She was in love with a Rasta man
Fire was burnin' and burning
To let out what she was holding in
And she didn't know how to tell him
She was in love with a Rasta man
Fire was burnin' and burning
To let out what she was holding in
I know her story before she say it
Daddy just want her cooperate
Find somebody that's corporate
Suit and tie more appropriate (cha)
Him say him nah make him daughter stray
But Reggae music she start fi play it
Ital food when she salt her plate
Militant youth weh she want fi date
And that is what she need
Marcus Garvey she start fi read
Hair stop comb and it start look neat
So him want keep her off the street from
Who she with and that be me
More than a natty head is what she see
No lovers leap is not for me
And she nuh waa keep it a secret
But she can't tell him who she sleep with
And she didn't know how to tell him
She was in love with a Rasta man
Fire was burnin' and burning
To let out what she was holding in
And she wants to be free
From all this captivity
So she'll be who she will be
They can't tell her who she need
They can't tell her who she want who she can't
She talk her owner chant
Chart her owner apart
And follow her owner heart
Call me over her own apartment
Now as I answer the phone that's the tone she start with
She know say she don't fi part with
One like I even though so much impart it
So she haffi do her owner thing
'Cause she can never live life for them
Knowing that she would look back when
To the time weh she
Couldn't explain to him 'cause then
And she didn't know how to tell him
She was in love with a Rasta man
Fire was burnin' and burning
To let out what she was holding in
And she didn't know how to tell him
She was in love with a Rasta man
Fire was burnin' and burning
To let out what she was holding in
The lyrics in Ky-Mani Marley's song "Rasta Love" tell a story about a woman who falls in love with a Rastafarian man, but is hesitant to share that with her father who wants her to find a partner that is more "appropriate". The woman's love for reggae music, and her newfound interest in Rastafarianism is expressed through her conversation with the singer of the song, who understands her situation. The woman wants to be free to be with the man she loves and live her life according to her beliefs.
The song touches on the themes of love, freedom, and self-expression. The lyrics show the internal struggle faced by the woman as she tries to reconcile her feelings for the Rasta man with her father's expectations. The story is a representation of the universal struggle faced by individuals who are trying to discover themselves and their beliefs while navigating societal expectations.
