Kygo started to learn to play the piano at age six through lessons. He decided to have a go at remixes and creating electronic music after discovering Avicii at age 15-16. After receiving over 80 million hits on YouTube and Soundcloud, Kygo was contacted by both Avicii and Chris Martin of Coldplay to create official remixes of one the artists' songs.
His remix of "I See Fire" entered Romania's Top 40 and remained there for 14 weeks, peaking at Number 2 as of June 3rd, 2014.
When creating/remixing music Kygo uses Logic Studio.
His track "It Ain't Me," with Selena Gomez, has exceeded 1 billion plays on Spotify.
He has an official site at https://www.kygomusic.com/ but at this moment it is about 5 years out of date. (In 2020 it refers to his "hotly anticipated album scheduled for 2015.")
Stole The Show
Kygo Lyrics

Watching, watching, as the credits all roll down
Crying, crying, you know we're playing to a full house, house
No heroes, villains, one to blame
While wilted roses fill the stage
And the thrill, the thrill is gone
Our debut was a masterpiece
Oh, the show, it can't go on
We used to have it all, but now's our curtain call
So hold for the applause, oh
And wave out to the crowd, and take our final bow
Oh, it's our time to go, but at least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
Darling, darling, you know that we are sold out
This is fading, but the band plays on now
We're crying, crying, so let the velvet roll down, down
No heroes, villains, one to blame
While wilted roses fill the stage
And the thrill, the thrill is gone
Our debut was a masterpiece
Our lines we read so perfectly
But the show, it can't go on
We used to have it all, but now's our curtain call
So hold for the applause, oh
And wave out to the crowd, and take our final bow
Oh, it's our time to go, but at least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
At least we stole the show
Stole the show
At least we stole the show
Stole the show
At least we stole the show
Kygo's "Stole the Show" is about a famous duo that has been in the business for a while and has now lost the spark which made them famous in the first place. The song starts with an appeal to turn on the lights and watch the credits roll down. The lyrics describe how the duo's debut was a masterpiece, and they stole the show in their heyday. However, they have reached the end of their careers with the realization that everything has changed. The thrill is gone, and the show can't go on. The duo's melancholy is expressed through crying, and the realization that they are playing to a full house, but the spark and magic are no longer there.
Kygo's lyrics are emphasizing the duo's decline, and there are no heroes or villains, which means that nobody is to blame. They admit that they used to have it all, but now it's their curtain call. However, they have, at least, stolen the show, making an impact in their career, though it's time to take their final bow. The lyrics talk about playing to a sold-out audience, but the show must go on, and the band plays on, a stark contrast to the duo's diminishing chemistry.
Overall, "Stole the Show" is about acknowledging the end of an era in the entertainment (or any) industry, where the duo realizes that even though they cannot continue, they should appreciate the success they had in the past. It is an emotional ode to the inevitability of change and how people must come to terms with these changes, whether they like them or not.
