As I recall, I believe he was like 50-ish in the original show which made him like 5-8 years old in human years. Most people forget that Shippo, depsite being weak and childish most of the time, is still a full-blooded demon. Even a half-demon like Inuyasha still looks like a teenager even more than 200 years old. They age really slowly.

I don't think full demons hit puberty until their around 300 years of age Inuyasha didn't hit puberty until a few hundred years after his mother died so I'm pretty sure shippo won't hit puberty until the end of the feudal period maybe early edo Rumiko never explained how long it takes demons to mature

Yeah makes sense. Also gotta include the fact that in Japanese culture foxes are believed to live a maximum of 900 years with the addition of another tail every century so that could also mean he's under 100 since he only has one big floofy tail

@Dark_Boba we also don't know exactly when Inuyasha is set in the feudal Era it was 210 year period so for all we could know Kagome traveled back barley halfway through it and now Yashime is set the later part of the Era I don't think Rumiko ever gave a exact time frame of between what years

@Axel Reboot wasn’t it often referred to as 500 years in the past? There’s some historical figures such as Nobunaga to pull from on roughly when in the Feudal era it’s set (as he is referenced directly by another Nobunaga early in the series in a way that suggests he’s currently alive). That puts the timeframe around roughly 1534-1582. Yashahime’s set roughly...20ish years after Inuyasha ended so if it’s not the late 1500’s then it’s possibly pushing into 1600. I’m not sure there are any historical figures mentioned at the time not even the deputy shogun.

@Ashmole Productions I never even considered that possibility but you're right! In a lot of japanese folklore a kitsune's life span ranges between 900 to 1000 years of age. He'd probably be an old man by the time kagome's era came around.

@Sissy Sovereign129 Given that Inuyasha is said to take place between 1543-1553 for the feudal era while the present day is in 1997, that means that about 450 years (give or take a few) have passed at most. In many myths, a kitsune gains a new tail every 100 years. After 1,000 years, they kitsune, having nine tails, with turn white in color, become a tenko and then ascend the heavens. (This various heavily based on myths, but this is the most popular one I've read.)

So it is entirely possible for Shippo to be alive when Kagome is born and long after she dies. If we assume Shippo lives to 1000, he would ascend in the year 2490. (All numbers rounded for simplicity.) He'd only be about 450 in 1997 - not even middle aged for a kitsune. But that is the end of my rant because I overthink everything.

InuYasha: A Feudal Fairytale and the ps2 RPG The Secret of tge Cursed Mask were my favorites.
The other Ps2 game was alright, but it was just a fighting game with cutscenes like Tekken or DOA or Soul Calibur. Yes, A Feudal Fairytale is, too, but I felt more interested in THAT than Feudal Combat.The moves were defintely better, too.

When I seen Shippo, I was about to say "OH MY BUDDHA BE LOOKS HOT & GORGEOUS!!" but boy was I fooled after seeing him and his teacher forming back to their little racoon-selves! 😁

Seriously?! Shippo was seven when the series started, it was 5 years later post the final act, meaning he would be at least 12. Meaning after fifteen years he would be at least 27 physically.

--In the official character guide, Rumiko Takashashi states that Inuyasha is technically 200 but due to his frozen state, when he was pinned to the tree for fifty years, he didn't age and therefore appears to be 150 years old, meaning that he ages one year for every ten years

Demons age much more slowly then humans do. Inuyasha mentioned the same thing in the early episodes of the original series, that as a half Demon he had a long life ahead of him compared to normal people and he wouldn't have to worry about aging for quite some time and that was 50years after being pinned to a tree.

For an anime that does NOT need to exist, honestly should never have existed and I don’t even know the reason it was made to begin with considering the original and the Final Act ended perfectly, I have to admit this looks impressive.
