progressive and alternative rock music such as Muse and Porcupine Tree.
KYROS (known as Synaesthesia 2012-2015) formed in 2012 in London, England and consists of Shelby Warne on lead vocals and keyboards, Joey Frevola and Sam Higgins on guitar, Peter Episcopo on bass guitar and Robin Johnson on drums. The five piece came together after Shelby was in need of completing the band line up to transition from a solo studio project to a fully fledged performing and writing group.
Although only having existed for a few years, the group has already released a critically acclaimed debut album and a successful limited edition EP. The debut album featured
artwork designed by Freyja Dean, the daughter of legendary album cover artist Roger Dean. Songs from these two releases have received airplay on various radio stations including Team Rock Radio. On top of this, KYROS has performed a number of impressive shows ranging from festival dates in UK, Germany and USA to supporting high profile bands such as Marillion and Anathema. In 2015, the band performed sixteen dates across Europe supporting Spock’s Beard, all with hugely receptive crowds and positive reactions.
KYROS has also gained positive reactions from within the press. They received top spot in the ‘Tip for 2014’ and runner up in the ‘Tip for 2016’ awards from Prog Magazine as well as a nomination for the ‘Limelight’ category within the Progressive Music Awards. Their debut album received critical acclaim from all over the spectrum. The band has attracted interviews and article write-ups from respected journalists such as Malcolm Dome and Rich Wilson. Both gave positive words regarding the debut album and their thoughts on the future and direction of the band. Wilson described the album as being “an exceptional debut from a band who will only improve”.
In Autumn 2016, KYROS will be independently releasing a maxi single entitled ‘Cloudburst’, which is to be shortly followed by a double-album called ‘Vox Humana’. This album will mark the band’s fourth overall release as well as being the band’s second official album release.

Never mind, the fears I set aside
I have no time, for blinding my desire
As ebb and flow decides where I go
You judge your eyes before the call
And then surmise to feel the fall
Cos you don't wanna know
Here I stand and fall now
It's another day
Now keep the shade and shut down
Here again, we let go
To the final call
So keep the face and shine now
Never mind, we're all stories in the end
Never mind, they'll all say they want you back
Never mind, finding love in a heart attack
Cos half the time you feel dead to the world
You judge your eyes before the call
And then surmise to feel the fall
Cos you don't wanna know
You don't wanna know
Here I stand and fall now
It's another day
Now keep the shade and shut down
Here again, we let go
To the final call
So keep the face and shine now
You gonna go and a give me another one (x8)
Kero Kero B and the Bleach Blonde Baby and the Seven Ragged Tiger, now night moves slowly
Hey it's knuckles and the way, and the Cora maybe
It's another way to the never-ending only-ending - give me more
No-more darkness and chestnut tree
I must confess it's beyond me
Everything you wanted, everything you ever said
Voices coming down, voices shooting now - listen
Tell me lies
Tell me lies
Tell me lies
Carry on
You judge your eyes before the call
And then surmise to feel the fall
Cos you don't wanna know
You don't wanna know
Now in paroxetine you fall
Celexa dreams to save us all
Medicate and celebrate
The pill the fix it all
Now I burn, the sun and sounds outside reside
You were sitting there with haunting eyes - and me?
I was feeling ever cold, a fading flame inside
Your smile it breaks the lull
I don't deserve to hold
Now I burn, the sun and sounds outside reside
My endless nights, desist - give me the high
And now I fall, right back to you
And can you hear my call?
And can you hear my call?
And can you hear my call?
And the years flew on by
The flame faded away
Is it enough, my mind can't take more of the questioning now
Is it enough, can we see it through - I knew
Here I stand and fall now
It's another day
Now keep the shade and shut down
Here again, we let go
To the final call
So keep the face and shine now.
The lyrics of "In Vantablack" by Kyros explore themes of inner struggles, self-doubt, and the search for purpose and meaning in life. The song expresses a sense of disregard for the external judgment and pressures placed upon oneself, emphasizing the importance of following personal desires and passions.
The verses begin by acknowledging the presence of voices in one's head and the fears that are often pushed aside. This suggests that the singer is grappling with inner conflicts and uncertainties. However, they emphasize that they have no time for allowing these fears to hinder their desires and ambitions.
The chorus repeats the idea of judgment and the reluctance to face certain truths. The line "You don't wanna know" implies that people often avoid confronting uncomfortable realities and would rather remain ignorant. This can be interpreted as a reflection of society's tendency to turn a blind eye to challenging issues.
The bridge introduces a series of fragmented and abstract phrases, offering a more cryptic and introspective aspect to the lyrics. It hints at the complexity of human relationships and the difficulty in understanding oneself and others. The repeated phrase "Tell me lies" suggests a yearning for reassurance or denial of harsh truths.
The final section of the song delves into a more personal and emotional space. The lyrics express a longing for connection and a sense of longing for fix and redemption. The imagery of burning, fading flames, and haunting eyes conveys a feeling of detachment and longing. The repeated question "And can you hear my call?" suggests a yearning for understanding and validation from someone else.
Overall, "In Vantablack" delves into the multifaceted nature of human emotions, the struggle to find one's true self, and the consequences of not addressing personal fears and doubts. It encourages listeners to prioritize their own desires and passions in the face of societal pressures and to seek solace in the pursuit of personal fulfillment.

on Rumour
You're on the lane, several beatings down the door
When shedding skin is all you'd left to do
I roll the dice, slay the light cause it's so bright
And indecision's glowing in my eyes
Voices coming down
Voices shooting now
Your voice is indescribable
Your bullets of a triggered gun right in my brain
Reminders of the feelings that you've drowned
And the shadows, drenching memories bring you down
No wonder failure's what you've found
Tell me lies, tell me lies
Dry your eyes, show the cries and publicise to make you mine
I'll apologise, otherwise you'll realise
How I've ruined every second that we've memorised
Rumours in the night, can someone hear me?
Rumours in the night, don't ever set her free
And now you're mine, you're an anchor man, an owner of
Is this skin trade ever growing out of line?
My love and patience grows so deep, you intruder in my mind
Soul collapse inside
Voices coming down
Voices shooting now
Your voice is indescribable
Your bullets of a triggered gun right in my brain
Tell me lies, tell me lies
Dry your eyes, show the cries
Oh recognise that you are mine
I'll apologise, otherwise you'll realise
How I've messed up every second that we've memorised
Tell me lies, tell me lies
Outsized to compromise and if I ever had to realise
Don't be long, carry on
Reminders of the feelings that you've drowned
And the shadows, drenching memories bring you down
As all the tears run dry upon your face
After climbing through the tangled torn-out lace
Tell me lies, tell me lies
Dry your eyes, show the cries
Oh recognise that you are mine
I'll apologise, otherwise you'll realise
How I've wasted every second that we've memorised
Rumours in the night, can someone hear me?
Rumours in the night, don't ever set her free.
