The "classic lineup" of the group would reunite in 1999 and began recording new material. However, the group continued to change lineups and Guns eventually left to form the hard rock supergroup Brides of Destruction with Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe in 2002. L.A. Guns continued without Guns, bringing in guitarist Stacey Blades, however, following his decision to put Brides of Destruction on hiatus in 2006, Guns formed The Tracii Guns Band. The group's lineup consisted of former L.A. Guns members Black, Alexander as well as Jeremy Guns (though the lineup would eventually change), with the group eventually changing their name to L.A. Guns. Both groups continued to record and tour under the L.A. Guns moniker until 2012, when the Tracii Guns-led version of the group disbanded. Riley died in 2023.
L.A. Guns (feat. Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis) released a new single "Let You Down" on May 6, 2020. It was released as the first single from their then-upcoming fourteenth studio album Checkered Past, which was released on November 12, 2021, and featured producer Adam Hamilton on drums.
In May 2022, it was announced that Shawn Duncan had replaced Shane Fitzgibbon as their drummer. In the following month, guitarist Ace Von Johnson revealed that L.A. Guns had been working on new material for their next studio album. The resulting album, Black Diamonds, was released on April 14, 2023.
Electric Gypsy

Five thousand miles I've roamed now,
I'm gettin' there
This is my destiny, the way that I choose
Don't need no one to talk about
About love and blues
Round, round, up and down
Moves so fast, never touch the ground
Don't come down, don't make me try
Lost in space or any other place
Living my dream on the moving train
Gypsy, electric gypsy, round I blow, yeah
I remember way back when, I was just like you
Yeah, I killed myself to live,
But I didn't have a clue
I got saddled in chrome and steel
750 reasons why I can't stand still
Oh no, here I go
Gotta keep moving, gotta let go
'Nother town, 'nother girl
Can't stand still till I've seen the world
Till I've seen the world, when I cry
Get in my spaceship, watch me fly
Gypsy, electric gypsy, round I blow, yeah, ooh, ah
Don't need no one to tell me to settle down
Life in the fast lane suits me to the ground
This is my destiny, the way that I choose
Don't need no one to tell me
About love and blues
Round, round, up and down
Moves so fast, never touch the ground
High, high, touch the sky
Don't come down, don't make me try
Lost in space or any other place
Puttin' my dream on the moving train
Gypsy, electric gypsy, round I blow
Gypsy, electric gypsy, oh oh oh
Gypsy, electric gypsy, round I blow
Gypsy, electric gypsy, (n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-no no no no no no) round I blow
Gypsy, electric gypsy, (oh oh oh oh oh) round I blow
Gypsy
The lyrics of L.A. Guns's "Electric Gypsy" tells the story of a restless and adventurous individual who yearns for a life of freedom and excitement. He is someone who prefers to keep moving and exploring rather than settling down in one place, and he finds solace in the open road and the wind on his face. The lyrics suggest that this is not a phase for the singer, but his true destiny and the only way of life he knows.
Throughout the song, we hear the singer's unwavering desire to live his life on his own terms. He doesn't need anyone to tell him how to live or what to do, and he doesn't want to be tied down by anything, especially not love and blues. He believes that life in the fast lane suits him and that he is willing to sacrifice anything to continue living this way. The lyrics also suggest that the singer has been through a lot in his life, but he has come out stronger and more determined than ever before.
In summary, "Electric Gypsy" is a song about a free spirit who refuses to let anything hold him down. It is a declaration of independence and the pursuit of one's desires, no matter how unconventional or difficult they may seem.

Even if this band wasn't as well known as they should have been, this was a top ten guitar riff of the 80's for me for sure.
@maxxxmodelz4061
Man, I remember I used to try like hell to get my friends into this band back then. No one wanted to hear it. Guns N Roses had just exploded with Welcome To The Jungle, and they were about to be the biggest band in the world for a few years and LA Guns flew under the radar until Ballad Of Jayne. It's a shame because they had 3 bangers off this album that could have been huge hits.
@johnstrika9170
Totally agree. I wasn't a huge fan of LA Guns back in the day, but this riff.... legendary
@michaelbrinks8089
@@maxxxmodelz4061I really like the music 🎶 part of this but just can't get into the singing, lyrics or song structure. His voice isn't bad but seems odd for this song. Kinda hard to describe. Like I'd much rather just jam out to the music without the singing or song.
Sorta like King Diamond, the music rocks but the constant falsetto/high voice gets annoying to me. But I guess other hard core KD fans love his constant falsettos.
@FredFerdberger
The two bands will forever be linked in Rock N Roll history. GNR certainly gained much more fame, but LA GUns is a really good band.
@Tat2Dragons
Now you know you're a bad ass when you roll with ALF on your bike.:) Great song, I really dig Tracii's lead guitar work on this track.
@johnnyrivera5916
One of my favorite guitar solos ever, I wish Young Guitarist would still play solos like this smh
@shmoogie31
Dude, I love that he's riding with ALF!! 🤘❤🤣

This song will never get old. Everytime I get on my bike it's in my head. Rock on LA GUNS
