The "classic lineup" of the group would reunite in 1999 and began recording new material. However, the group continued to change lineups and Guns eventually left to form the hard rock supergroup Brides of Destruction with Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe in 2002. L.A. Guns continued without Guns, bringing in guitarist Stacey Blades, however, following his decision to put Brides of Destruction on hiatus in 2006, Guns formed The Tracii Guns Band. The group's lineup consisted of former L.A. Guns members Black, Alexander as well as Jeremy Guns (though the lineup would eventually change), with the group eventually changing their name to L.A. Guns. Both groups continued to record and tour under the L.A. Guns moniker until 2012, when the Tracii Guns-led version of the group disbanded. Riley died in 2023.
L.A. Guns (feat. Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis) released a new single "Let You Down" on May 6, 2020. It was released as the first single from their then-upcoming fourteenth studio album Checkered Past, which was released on November 12, 2021, and featured producer Adam Hamilton on drums.
In May 2022, it was announced that Shawn Duncan had replaced Shane Fitzgibbon as their drummer. In the following month, guitarist Ace Von Johnson revealed that L.A. Guns had been working on new material for their next studio album. The resulting album, Black Diamonds, was released on April 14, 2023.

Only comes out after dark
Hates her mom hates the old man
Don't like living in a caravan
Oh taxi cab
It ain't nice 4 girls 2 grab
She's leaving town on a greyhound bus
Doing time 4 your baby
Doing time 4 your man
Anyway you can
New york city, Hollywood
Just like she always knew she would
She's riding high she's playing the game
Moving fast as a hurricane
Oh taxi cab
It ain't nice 4 girls 2 grab
Don't make a sound don't make a fuss
Doing time 4 your baby
Sleazy come easy go
Doing time 4 your man
Anyway you can
Private plane crystal queen best Peruvian
You've ever seen
Lady luck took a dive
She's in stir doing 3 to 5
Oh where's that cab, I told you it ain't nice 2 grab
She's leaving town in a greyhound bus
Doing time 4 your baby
Sleazy come easy go
Doing time 4 your man
Anyway you can
The lyrics to "Sleazy Come Easy Go" by L.A. Guns tell the story of a woman named Baby who lives in a trailer park and despises her parents and her living situation. She leaves town on a greyhound bus and ends up in New York City and Hollywood, living a high life and doing whatever she can to survive. The lyrics suggest that she is involved in shady dealings, possibly prostitution or drug use, and as a result, ends up in prison for three to five years.
The song is a cautionary tale about the dangers of living a fast and sleazy lifestyle, and how it can lead to negative consequences. The lyrics touch on themes of rebellion, desperation, and survival, as Baby does whatever it takes to make a living and escape her unhappy life. The repeated use of the phrase "doing time" suggests that Baby is paying the price for her actions, and the lyrics imply that her prospects for a better life are dim.
Overall, "Sleazy Come Easy Go" is a gritty and visceral portrayal of a woman caught in a cycle of poverty and degradation. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of her struggles and highlight the bleakness and despair of her situation.
