I made a huge mess the first time I used dip powder! I didn't wait long enough to brush the excess powder. I had that same problem with the nails being bumpy and dull so I put a gel no wipe top coat and voilà.... Super shiny. ☺❤❤❤☺

Haha XD Ah yes, I saw in several tutorials how they mentioned to let it dry before brushing off the powder 😅 oh ok, I'm not set up for gel atm, but I applied a regular top coat and it helped make it shinier! 😃 tfw! 🤗

This is so majorly cool!!! I've never done dip nails before but they look like so much fun! I'm so sorry that I have no guidance to offer on this one. If it's not a pain, will you do a removal video to show how easy it is to get these off, because that is like the biggest reason why I haven't tried them yet. Pretty please???

Thank you! They are fun, and I'm learning a lot from very helpful comments here! Sure I can do a removal video! 😀 I used a peel off base coat and they are so easy to take off, but they start lifting very soon, like in a day. Actually your reason is the exact one that I had for not doing dip powder nails! For removing them when you did not use a peel off base coat, use a file or buffer to buff off the top layer of shine from the nail, then soak it with a cotton ball and acetone, wrapping the nail in foil for 15 minutes. 🤗 pretty much the same as gel!

Thanks for your video, what I always do when I do a dip system is, I leave off doing the No3 top coat (& all top coats of any brand) and apply a uv gel or gel polish top coat and cure for the recommended time - looks totally fab - U - lus…………...Xv

Hello Vicki, welcome to my channel 🤗 Oh that sounds like a really good idea!! I totally would try that if I had the gel and lamp 😁 I actually tried my Seche Vite top coat on it, after the video, and it did make it a little shinier, but the glitter was still dull 😩 But thanks for the tip! 🥰🤗

The nails turned out Great considering they trouble they gave you in the beginning. Most everyone I’ve watched ends up putting on a shinier top coat on the acrylic dips. I loved the color💗💗💗💗💗🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👌🏼

Your application of the activator requires you to wash your hands with just water, followed by wiping it and then applying the top coat very quickly, it’s a quick dry so typically if you disrupt the drying process, it makes the “glossy” part of the nail more matte

I do some dip powder nails if you want to check out . Also Marla Kris does awesome dip nails. You have super nice and long nails, I suggest you to turn your nail over and dip that way or you can get dip trays that help. Ask if you have questions. Have a great day😊💜

Great review!! I've never tried dip powder....... Mostly cuz my Nails are REALLY thin.....😐☹️ And they peel and bend really easy... If u could, could u do a video on testing nail strengtheners and hardeners and seeing which one is the best??

Thank you Andi! the dipping powder made my nails really hard. I don't use nail strengtheners or hardeners, well except the one I made 😅 wearing nail polish all the time helps my nails stay stronger. But if I'm ever buying a nail strengthener I'll definitely make a video on it, thanks for the idea!

I ALWAYS still use a gel top coat. The top coat to the dip systems are nothing more than the base which both of them are a brush on glue/resin.

oh cool! So it IS glue!! it sure smelled like it 😂 after the video I applied my Seche vite top coat to one of them to see what it looks like and it kinda made it a little more glossy 😅

Very pretty holo powder. Yes dip nails is messy. Try turning you're finger upside down when u dip. Yes those top coat not the best in my opinion i prefer a gel top coat. Love your natural nails!

I was just browsing eBay (that and amazon are some of my favorite pastimes 😆) and I saw that Born Pretty has something that looks VERY SIMILAR to the Builder in a Bottle! The listing is "BORN PRETTY Nail builder uv gel and 20Pcs Nail Forms" and it’s the bottle of Builder gel and 20 nail forms for SIX DOLLARS!! (Just for reference, I paid $25 JUST for the Builder in a Bottle gel. I didn’t even get the whole kit with everything else bc it was 50 bucks! Also I had pretty much everything else in the kit) I just thought I’d let you know as you might like to try it out for a video.

The Polish Queen Oh wow! That’s so cool! I’ve been looking for something to overlay my nails so that I could grow them out so I was looking at dip nails. But it just looked like too much, then I saw that Orly came out with something called Builder in a Bottle that looks pretty easy to do at home (even though it’s not supposed to be for at home use, but hey you can get anything on amazon these days 😆) So I ordered some. It was dang EXPENSIVE though!

U can turn ur finger upside down and put it in the container backwards in a sence. Hope that makes sence. Also use a clear over the glitter so u dont buff the color off the glitter

Add no wipe top coat and cure. It will be glossy. The dip powder does not rub in you need pigment for that they are two different products

Yes in a later video once I was set up with gel and a lamp, I did another video with a gel top coat and it was glossy! And it is funny, but this product is supposed to be a 4 in 1 product. :D Haha I needed to use gel again for that rub in technique 😅 Thank you for the tips! 💞😊

Hmmm..... ok. If ya havent bern following the dip powder saga i might be able to help with the matte looking glitter. Always do a tester first. Ok first issue it might be you didnt put a clear coat of dip over the glitter and 2 the second reason why it looks like that, you used a took hard of a buffer so it files the flitter into its base color, grey. 3rd and final. In most of these kits if the top coat has that strong smell its glue. So its glue holding an acrylic pigment on layers then the activator hardens it all but putting another glue on top only make she shine go away and in some cases undoes the 'activator'. The key info you gave it went dull and was rough. Use a self levelling shiny top coat non us/led or uv/led to solve that issue. Long winded sorry. I think next sunday i will cover the glitter application issues and how to solve them. Putting another up today maybe it might help. Let me know if you have questions😊💜💜 love what you were trying. Oh and the rubbing thing, it works better on black but the base needs to be at the same state so a non uv colour gel works best and a sponge applicator gives the best glitter/holo look. But i will say if its not powder-like it most often wont work, glitters cant give the whole chromey look. Great go at it👍👍👍 keep it up! Try pouring it next time is your nails are too long 😊
