Band formation
L.T.D. (which stood for Love, Togetherness and Devotion) was formed in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1968 by keyboardist Jimmie "J.D." Davis and saxophonist Abraham "Onion" Miller. Both were former backing musicians for soul duo Sam and Dave. The band was originally named Love Men, Ltd.
The other members of the band were recruited following the relocation of Jimmie and Abraham to New York City:

Johnny McGhee, guitarist
Carle Vickers, trumpeter
Arthur "Lorenzo" Carnegie, saxophonist
Toby Wynn, saxophonist
Jake Riley, Jr., trombonist
Jeffrey Osborne, singer and drummer
The group then settled in Los Angeles, where Osborne's brother, Billy Osborne joined the lineup as the keyboardist.
Discography
L.T.D. signed with the A&M label to issue their 1974 debut Love, Togetherness and Devotion. On their third LP, 1976's Love to the World, the group scored their first Top 20 pop hit, Love Ballad. The follow-up, 1977's Something to Love, included the top five track (Every Time I Turn Around) Back in Love Again. Four years later L.T.D. returned to the Top 40 once again with Shine On.

Vonnecia Fullerton Oh my God 😢 your realistic beautiful love story is so similar to mine I was about 6 or 7 years old he was a few years older give or take in our year difference. Well we were playing run and catch me game and he ran into my backyard. I looked at the joy and peace and laughter and happiness in his smile and eyes 👀 so I just knew that he was the one for me that I wanted in my life forever when I got older and wanted to marry. Well it was very funny because when i kisses him on the lips he didn’t like it at all and he surely raised a lot of hell about it and looked at me with hate in his eyes because I kissed him. I think 🤔 I smiled at him which made him dislike me even more. I knew when we got grownup your feelings I prayed would change......... well the years and years and many more years went by He was always on my mind on what he would look like? If he did get a job? He was very cute when we were very little......... well about 32 years later I was sitting on the steps smoking a cigarette. ( Lol, I know that was a no no lol). This man very handsome man driving this very expensive car 🚗 was getting ready to play his music very loud and ready to pull out of his parking spot. Well our eyes met and I couldn’t take my eyes off of him....... I really didn’t care that he knew I was staring at him I was just something about him that just drew me like a magnet 🧲 well every time I saw him it was the same feeling that kept getting stronger and stronger........ well people saw how much we couldn’t stop the locked eyes contact and that’s when my bubble was bursted wide open. He was the same little boy I kissed when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I was fascinated how handsome he was and his job was very expensive and very professional and he drove a very expensive car. Well out of my lifestyle growing up in a dysfunctional family and I couldn’t get my feet off the ground I did very poorly in school I was homeless for awhile and a lot of other things went wrong. I even ranked alcohol 🍷 and smoked weed to deepen the pain of my child 👶 hood................. if you want to hear the ending of my story please let me know by putting me back to the lines of my story where I left off here....................
