Do you feel lucky?
I didn't think so
These lyrics are from ABBA's hit song, "My Love, My Life." The song explores the emotional turmoil of a breakup and the pain of trying to move on from a former lover. The first stanza starts with the singer acknowledging the end of their relationship and the fact that they must go their separate ways. They express the feeling of helplessness as they know that there is nothing they can do to change the situation. In the second stanza, the singer reminisces about the good times he/she shared with their ex-partner. They want to know whether the relationship was only a dream, or if it was real but ended up being a lie.
The chorus talks about how the singer sees reflections of their former lover in their mind, and they try to express their feelings through words but can't seem to find the right ones. Despite this, they acknowledge that they don't possess their former lover and that it's time for them to move on with their lives. The final lines of the song demonstrate the internal struggle of letting go and moving on while still holding onto the love that they shared.

I've seen it on your face
The emotions you're hiding can be read from the look on your face
Tells me more than any worn out old phase
Your expression is more informative than any cliche phrase
So now we'll go separate ways
Our paths will diverge from here
Never again we two
We won't be together again
Never again, nothin' I can do
I can't change this outcome
Like an image passin' by, my love, my life
Our relationship was fleeting like an image that quickly disappears
In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life
I can see the end reflected in your eyes
I can see it all so clearly
I'm not confused about the state of our relationship
(See it all so clearly)
(I see it all clearly)
Answer me sincerely
Tell me truthfully
(Answer me sincerely)
(Tell me honestly)
Was it a dream, a lie?
Was our relationship a figment of my imagination or a falsehood?
Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life
Your thoughts and feelings are reflected in your words and actions
Are the words you try to find, my love, my life
You struggle to find the right words to express your emotions
But I know I don't possess you
I'm aware that I don't own you or have control over you
So go away, God bless you
Leave and good luck to you
You are still my love and my life
You'll always hold a special place in my heart
I've watched you look away
I've observed you turning your gaze elsewhere
Tell me, is it really so hard to say?
Finding the words is difficult for you?
Oh, this has been my longest day
This day seems like it drags on forever
Sitting here close to you
Being near you intensifies my emotions
Knowing that maybe tonight we're through
I'm aware that this could be the end of us
