1. Laïs is a Flemish folk group featuring the voices of Jorunn Bauweraerts, Nathalie Delcroix and Annelies Brosens. The inspiration for their songs comes from old song books. Their style can best be described as a modern take on medieval songs.
The band was formed at the music workshop Volksmuziekstages in Gooik, Belgium. The well-established Flemish folk band Kadril noticed the girls singing a capella and took them on tour as their support act. While touring with Kadril Laïs built up a small fan base with their a capella songs. Their first CD featured appearances by Kadril, but later the girls would find their own musicians to complete the band. Today Jorunn, Nathalie and Annelies are joined by Fritz Sundermann (electric and acoustic instruments, harmonium), Hans Quaghebeur (squeezeboxes, hurdy-gurdy, whistle), Ronny Reuman (percussion) and Bart Denolf (electric and acoustic bass).
2. Lais is a Canadian R&B singer and rapper, who stormed onto the scene via Reddit’s HipHopHeads when his first mixtape Session One went viral on the platform. After deciding to dive into producing and songwriting as a way to pass the time while being on house arrest he rediscovered his love & passion for music & fashion. Born in Pakistan, but having moved to Virginia at the age of 3 and again to Toronto at the age of 13, Lais has been able to tap into a unique variety of cultures, aesthetics, and sounds from his own life experiences all while telling his story.
3. Leys , born Leslie in Verdun France, is a french rapper. After starting rapping at the age of 16, she quickly gained attention and started being invited at France's biggest hip hop radio to freestyle.
She gained notoriety during her participation in Nouvelle Ecole, Netflix's french version of rap competition Rythm and Flow. She made it to the finale, arriving at number 2 behind belgian rappeur Fresh with whom she collaborated later. She is still, to this day, the only female rapper who made it this far in the competition.
In march 2024, she released her first EP simply selftitled 'LEYS'.

The song "Grand Jacques" by Laïs is a critique of hypocrisy, specifically targeted towards those who claim to be religious but do not live up to the ideals they espouse, those who refuse to acknowledge the senseless and tragic nature of war, and those who cling to unrealistic and idealistic notions of love. The song opens by criticizing the ease with which people enter churches, only to confess and seek forgiveness for all the immoral things they have done. The singer points out the hypocrisy of the priest who, in the dim light, closes his eyes as if to pardon them. She then turns her attention to Jacques, urging him to be quiet and not speak because he knows nothing about God, and that his limited knowledge amounts only to hymns and images.
The second verse addresses those who declare that wars are over, and insist that this is the last one that will ever be fought. The singer ridicules those who have lost sight of the tremendous loss and destruction that wars cause, and who seem oblivious to the countless graves that litter the battlefield. Once again, she tells Jacques to be silent and let those people shout and cry, for he never even fought in a war. The final verse of the song deals with love, which is presented as something that can be easily broken and ultimately doomed to fail. The singer exhorts Jacques to refrain from speaking about love, as he knows nothing of it, and to instead leave the talking to those who have experienced both the ecstasy and the pain of it.
