It was our anniversary, and I remembered it this time
I had everything ready,
Caviar, Champagne and both on ice
I was going to go and get you in my Chevy 86
When on one side of the highway,
Something strange was in the mist...
And the whole earth was trembling,
and the people were praying.
I asked a man "What happened, Mister?"
He mentioned something about Richter
And the whole earth was opening,
And the people were falling...
This time it wasn't my fault,
it was San Andrea's fault
No fue mi culpa esta vez,
fue la falla de San Andrés...
In La Derecha's song "La Falla", the singer recounts the story of when he was preparing everything for an anniversary party for his significant other. He had everything ready, including fancy food and drink, and was on his way to pick her up in his Chevy 86. However, on the way, he noticed something strange happening on the side of the road. The earth was trembling and people were praying. When he asked a man what was going on, he learned that it was an earthquake - the San Andreas Fault had caused the ground to open up, causing people to fall.
Despite his preparations, there was nothing that the singer could do to prevent the disaster that occurred. The lyrics suggest a sense of helplessness and acceptance of something that is beyond his control. ("it wasn't my fault this time, it was San Andrea's fault") convey that he is not to blame for what happened, and he is acknowledging that sometimes things just happen.
