Lucky man for you
La Polla Records Lyrics

Cuauacuá Cuacuacuá Cuacuacuá
Cuacuacuá Cuacuacuacuacuaaaaaaaaa

Lavando el dinero de la mafia
Apoyando al facismo mundial
Amaos los unos a los otros
Dice el asesino
En la cocina la foto del Papa
Dentro de la bandera nacional
Este amuleto ha de funcionar
Lucky man, a lucky man for you

Lucky man, lucky man, lucky man
Lucky man, lucky man, lucky man
Lucky man, lucky man, lucky man

A cuarenta pavos la reliquia
Milagro garantizado
Si esto es vivir en serio
Preferimos hacer el indio

Papapapapapapapapapapa

Lucky man, a lucky man for you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of La Polla Records's song Lucky Man are a biting criticism of the corrupt and immoral nature of power and wealth. The opening lines, Cuauacuá Cuacuacuá Cuacuacuá, seem to mimic the sound of a duck, perhaps symbolizing the superficiality and childishness of those in power. The next two lines, Lavando el dinero de la mafia, Apoyando al facismo mundial, are a direct critique of the ways in which wealth and power are often obtained through criminal and unjust means. The following line, Amaos los unos a los otros, Dice el asesino, highlights the hypocrisy of those in power who often speak of love and unity while perpetuating violence and oppression.

The image of the photo of the Pope in the kitchen and the national flag with its amulet suggest that those in power use a false nationalism and religion to justify their actions. The lines, Este amuleto ha de funcionar, Lucky man, a lucky man for you, sarcastically imply that those in power believe themselves to be blessed and therefore above the law. The repeated chant of Lucky man, as well as the lines, A cuarenta pavos la reliquia, Milagro garantizado, Si esto es vivir en serio, Preferimos hacer el indio, suggest that those outside of power would rather live a simpler life than become corrupt and morally bankrupt in order to obtain wealth and power.
