Ella, Vicky Cordero, es de Punta Arenas; él, Mico Rubilar, de Los Ángeles: el grupo se llama La Reina Morsa. Con un puñado de canciones llenas de animales y nostalgias juveniles, logran reclutar a más músicos y ponerse a tocar. Haciendo un pop instrumental con mucha influencia sesentera, consiguen editar su primer trabajo en Cazador a fines de ese mismo año: Fiesta Pequeña EP.
El grupo, por esos días, era secundado por Leo Saavedra (Primavera de Praga), y tras lanzar el EP consiguen una buena recepción crítica y una intensa agenda de shows. Después de un proceso de grabación casero, La Reina Morsa publica en agosto de 2010 su primer largaduración: ¿Dónde están las jugueterías?, también por Cazador. El disco, que contiene los tres temas aparecidos en Fiesta Pequeña, profundiza el estilo que habían encaminado en su primer año: pop sicodélico de “melodías felices con líricas tristes”, como dice la crítica de Super45.
Pero después del álbum, la calma. La Reina Morsa se tomó con tranquilidad su debut discográfico: sin dejar de tocar en vivo, la actividad paralela de sus integrantes hizo que la actividad de la banda se redujera, hasta que al final del verano 2011 se generó un cambio. Manteniendo al dúo original, el grupo cambia de integrantes y también de dirección. Ahora ingresan Pablo Gálvez y Ricardo Herrera, dándole un tono más directo y energético al sonido, sin perder la esencia ni olvidar el pasado.
Mediados de 2011 en Santiago y dos sureños siguen con su banda, armando y probando nuevas canciones, definiendo su rumbo, consagrando un estilo. Es La Reina Morsa, creciendo con su sonido.

Overall Meaning
