In the Room
La Roca Vol.4 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Get on a feeling and boogie down instead
Dance to the music, to the songs in your head
If you think it’s helping, only time will tell
Sometimes to get to heaven, you gotta raise a little hell
And dance to the music, the songs that are in your head
Whether grunge or new wave, hip-hop, or creole
Blues and jazz standards, jams or rock and roll
Let the music move in you like venom through your veins
Groove to the latest tune eating, haunting your brain
Sing your own refrain
There’s no need to worry when you’ve got nothing to lose
Don’t have to count your steps, cut loose and move
The past can’t own you, don’t stress for days ahead
Embrace the moment like it’s your daily bread
And dance to the music, the songs that are in your head
Dance to the music, the songs will make you whole
Dance to the music, like you’ve lost control
Dance to the music, the songs that will save your soul
The lyrics of La Roca Vol.4's "In The Room" encourage listeners to get up and dance to the music, even when feeling lonesome or down. The song highlights the healing and transformative power of music, with lyrics that suggest everything from grunge and new wave to hip-hop and blues can provide a target for listeners to lose themselves.
The lyrics suggest that dancing to the music that matters to you is a way to raise yourself from a dark place, to find peace, and to forget what was the past. The mention of "singing your own refrain" also suggests that the listener should embrace their unique self and let their individuality shine through in their movements and musical tastes.
The song reminds the listener that they have the power to own the moment and the music. The idea that dancing to your own tune can make you feel whole and save your soul is a prevalent theme throughout the track, leaving the listener with a sense of hope, empowerment, and rhythm.

Tosi is so inspirational! Took her love of baking with her mom and grandmom, moved to NYC on a dream, worked hard as hell, and is now one of the best pastry chefs in America - never losing her love or passion.

I don’t know about you, but I love this documentary more than anything else on netflix. It’s such a speechless experience to just watch it. All my life I wanted to be a chef and watching this, makes me to just believe more in my dream. Respect for all chefs in this world, trying to do their best, trying to create new things...that’s all about the food, when you taste it, to feel it like a piece of heaven.
