La Santa Cecilia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning | Line by Line Meaning
Tu me ves mujer con tus hijos de hombre y yo te veo con ojos de mujer,
tu me quieres cambiar y de pies manejarme
porque ne esta curva me vas a perder. Ti ni mandas aquí mando yo
The lyrics in La Santa Cecilia's song Cuchara talk about a woman who is tired of being seen as an innocent victim in a relationship and wants to take control of her life. She tells her partner that this time she won't allow him to interfere and cause unnecessary arguments. She no longer wants to be the innocent one in the relationship and doesn't even want to be associated with it. The woman tells her partner that he sees her as a woman with the responsibilities of a man, but she wants to be seen as a woman with her own rights.
The woman implies that she doesn't want her partner to try to change her or even control her actions. She's determined to take the reins of her life and make her own decisions. The woman tells her partner that she's in charge and he's not going to dictate her life. The song encourages women to take control of their lives, not only in romantic relationships but in all aspects of their lives.
