Yup, you just want the pain to go away. There's an old movie from the 40s or 50s called 'I wanna Live'. The movie is based on real life events about a woman that was executed for murder which most people believe she didn't do. Her friends kinda hung her out to dry. My mom died of fentanyl overdose around the time I started watching this show. When this song played in particular, I felt like I knew everything she had ever felt in her 10 years of drug addiction. Where I once hated her and what her addiction had done to ME, I finally acknowledged what her addiction did to HER and my heart broke in a million pieces. I think this song perfectly captures an aspect of what it is like to be suicidal. One that many people can't bring to understand. Which is that these people really try their best to win their battles. And when all proves futile literally say, I'm tired. I've been trying. I like that this song recognizes that. I have been for a while. I've been suicidal for almost two years now. It's difficult. And so I just want to tell you to be kind to yourself. Do not put too much pressure on yourself. People don't realize the struggle of even leaving your bed in the morning. Or how merely drawing breath feels like a war. So take life day at a time. Do your best and appreciate yourself for even the tiniest bit of progress you make. It could even be as simple as laughing or affording to smile. Most importantly, sit with the negative emotions. Feel them. Don't drink, sleep, eat, exercise them away. FEEL. It's the best and fastest way to healing. All the best on this journey. Know that you aren't alone ❤️

My mom died Feb 20th 2020. At 19 I was in a downward spiral of alcoholism, sitting on my bed at 22 a few months back I was drunk out of my mind and listening to music. This song came on and I bawled, I had been so tired for so long and didn’t know. The alcohol was masking it but this song let out all my emotions that I had bottled up since my mother died. I have since been 2 months sober and have rekindled my relationship with God. 2:19 are the lyrics that stood out to me the most because I would ask myself this constantly and the answer is yes. Broken, fragile, depressed, anxious etc is it enough for God. He takes you as you are, he heals you and comforts you in your times of need, he stops raging storms from passing over you. Seek him in your time of need and your prayers will never go unanswered. Bless all those who are going through tough times right now. 💜

This song means so much too me, I’ve dealt with a drug addiction for the last 3 years or so, and i relapsed at new years after being clean for 7 months. I was actively using without telling anyone for the past few months. Tomorrow ill be sober for a whole week, which is the longest I’ve been in a while. I don't agree. Finding comfort in someone high above, caring for you, doesn't happen to everyone. What about people with trauma caused by religion? The people religion tells you are sinners? My mental health is deeply impacted by all I've been taught as a kid. I feel worthless, because of religion. I feel like I'm not supposed to exist. I feel wrong. If I had the guts I'd not stand here today. All because my parents ended up basically telling me, every fiber of my being is to be wiped away. My mental disorder, my mental illness, my sexuality, is to be wiped away very soon. I don't know who I'd be without my mind as it is. My personality is a mix of all my experiences and how my brain works due to my disorder. I don't want to be me, but having a mighty being wipe it all away would be like truly admitting that I'm not good the way I am. I might be struck down in the end of this world, by God himself, is what I've been told. Even if it's not God himself who let it be written in the translations of the bible, even if he didn't cause the hatred towards my kind, why would he let it be for so long? He's betrayed us. Others have put their trust in him and have been killed anyway. There is no hope for me. If this is how it's always been, then he'll only view me as a sinner. I don't expect mercy, if he even does exist.

@@iclynnx God loves you no matter what. I'm sorry that people including your parents have put such bad things into your mind and I can't imagine how it affects you. Just know God is always waiting for you. God said to come as you are- you could be a murderer, a rapist it doesn't matter, God will always accept you as long as you ask him to. He has never betrayed you. He sees what you've been through but you cannot receive help without asking. Ask him to work on you and to heal the trauma you have. God bless

@@gabrielleebanks3281 I have asked for help, as a child. I have tried. I have begged in my mind. I dunno if any God can hear my thoughts. I can't speak out loud either, it's too awkward. I'm neurodivergent, which makes things like this harder for me. I'll just live my life like I want to.

@@iclynnx no need to apologize you can express yourself as you please. With talking to God I understand that it feels like you're talking to a wall at first. As a believer when I first started praying it felt like I was talking to myself but I reminded myself to just have faith in God and be patient. Also faith without works is dead. This means you yourself have to work for what you want. So maybe going to therapy or venting or finding a healthy way to cope will aid along your healing. God can do anything and you can do anything through him. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and to change and heal you. Again I'm sorry for the trauma you've been caused. Just know these people typically aren't good representatives of God. We are supposed to love you as we love ourselves, it's wrong for them to say things like that to you about your sexuality. You are supposed to exist and are extremely loved by God and others I'm sure! It sounds like humans have ultimately let you know and given you a distorted view of yourself and God which I'm sorry about! I get the sense of you going through life trying to chip away at a wall but all you have are your bare hands, but soon you'll finally have the tools to help you do this!

I just listened to this song 5 times in a row and just sang the words as if they I wrote them. These lyrics bring out so much emotion in me. I’m tired, I really am. But at the same time…I’m trying. 😩 I’m an addict, I’m on an almost 2 year long relapse, and I don’t have any more fight in me. It’s either get help again and for the last time, or die. I want to choose life, but at this point I feel like I’m just a waste of space. This song makes me feel all of this…that’s how powerful it is. 🖤❤️‍🩹

This song hits me deep. For years I have been dealing with depression, anxiety, letdowns, bad breaks, and I was even having suicidal thoughts. Specifically Zendaya’s part, when she sings, “Hey Lord, you know I’m trying” resonated within everything I have faced, and continuing to face. Anyone who is going through it, know that you are special, and you have a purpose. Believe me when I say that you are loved, unique, and you are more of importance than you think. Stay strong, I love you. You are amazing.

One of the best series I've watched, I saw myself a lot like Rue, I also lost my father as a child and found myself in the world of drugs as a teenager / adult, today it's been 1 month and a little since I'm clean, although I take prescription drugs and I've already I've been through a lot of dangerous things like her. Really, she played a great role on the show, not just her, but all of them.
