Warme garnars smory
Die mij den kost wel winnen kan
Warme garnars, warme garnars
Warme garnars smory
Wel mijn dochter gij zijt te jong
Warme garnars smory
Gij moet nog wachten een jaar rond
Warme garnars smory
Moeder ik ben oud genoeg
Warme garnars smory
Mijn Jan is knap en welbeproefd
Warme garnars, warme garnars
Warme garnars smory
Moeder, moeder geef mij een man
Warme garnars smory
Die mij dees koude winter kan
Warmen, warmen, warmen, warmen,
Warme garnars smory
The lyrics to Laďs's song "Warme Garnars" tell the story of a young woman pleading with her mother for a man who can provide for her. The title, which refers to "warm eels," is likely a metaphor for a wealthy and successful man. The young woman believes she is old enough to have a partner who can support her, but her mother insists she wait another year. The woman argues that her chosen partner, Jan, is capable and attractive. Ultimately, she begs her mother to give her a man who can warm her through the cold winter.
This song highlights the struggle of young women seeking independence and security in a society that often dictates their level of agency. The lyrics reveal a desire for autonomy and the ability to choose one's own partner, as well as a need for financial stability. The reference to eels adds a layer of cultural significance to the song, as eels have a place in many traditional European cuisines and are often associated with wealth and luxury.

What a great tutorial!! It was super easy to follow and I really like how my headband turned out. I'm making a second right now and will most likely make a few more for Christmas gifts.

How many chains are you doing for each one? Everytime I do it, it ends up to small for some reason🤦🏻♀️ what would you recommend for an adult or how many inches would you do length wise?

Did you manage to make a headband? If you measure around your head and crochet a chain the same length, would that work?
