"wrapped in shadows, my heart races" = surrounded by demons (demons are black like shadows who can morph), am excited and scared (the heart races part)
"dragon's eyes watch, goddess breathing" = in revelations, Satan is referred to dragon (saying Satan watches), goddess breathing (he is alive, the real God is not a woman)
"give me something to believe in" = let me believe in your lies and deceivement

She also says, "is it what I'm seeing real or is it just a sign, is it all just virtual" = she is confused whether it's real or not (confusion is a sign of demonic attack).

She also says "we can be anything you like, I'll be your enigma" = you can choose what would I do, and none has to know about it, this can be our secret.

This entire album, but more particularly this song, has made me feel so much happier and at peace with myself; I feel like I am heard and spoken to. It's been just over two months since this album came out, I still play this song several times a day, and I love to sing along.

Lady Gaga's vocals in this song are just plain unreal. There's just something about Engima that makes you feel carefree, happy, and like you can do anything. Hands-down this is the best song from Chromatica.

Hands down this is the most underrated song on the entire YouTube. The melody of this song and the part where she sings WE COULD BE LOVERS EVEN JUST TONIGHT, WE COULD BE ANYTHING YOU WANT is more worth and complex than Madonna's whole career. What makes #Chromatica unique is that each and every song has a different vocal technique. With Alice it's a smooth soprano, Enigma is a bit jazz esque sharp vocal, 1000 doves sounds a bit classical music vocal wise, Sine from above is something else, replay, plastic fun tonight free woman etc
