The song was supposed to be included on ARTPOP, but Gaga opted to replace it with "Dope", A new song created using the melody of the song but different lyrics. Shortly after the iTunes Festival, Bobby Campbell of the Haus of Gaga confirmed that "I Wanna Be With U" became "Dope". The song references her song, "Born This Way" in the line "cause I was born this way"
While performing "Dope" at the final artRAVE in Paris, Lady Gaga performed a short version of "I Wanna Be With You".
