Le temps passe
Lady Sir Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Lady Sir's "Le temps passe" is a song that explores the passage of time and its different interpretations. The lyrics talk about how time can feel different, as if it were either passing too slowly or too quickly, and how it can feel like different moments are happening simultaneously. This is exemplified in the first verse, where the lyrics state "C'est comme si c'était hier / Comme si l'endroit faisait l'envers" (It's as if it was yesterday / As if the place was upside down), which may indicate the feeling of being stuck in the past, of holding onto memories and not being able to move on.
Similarly, the song also deals with the idea of the future, and how it can feel like it's constantly looming over us. For instance, the second verse talks about how it feels like tomorrow has already arrived and that night has turned into day. It's as if Lady Sir is highlighting the fact that time is a construct that humans have created, and yet it has a powerful hold on us.
In the chorus, the lyrics state "Le temps passe, on l'évite / Ne passons pas trop vite" (Time passes, we avoid it / Let's not go too fast), which can be interpreted as the artists acknowledging the transience of time and urging the listener to make the most of it, to live in the present and not let life pass them by.
Overall, Lady Sir's "Le temps passe" is a poignant song that evokes the cyclical nature of time and how it can feel like we are trapped in a perpetual cycle of past, present, and future.
