Neighbor
Laghonia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm going to start to talk to you about this place,
Big, big place
Where they all live together
There are only one thousand and fifteen houses
Not too much! Ha?
There goes the fat old lady, with those ugly Chinese
Dogs in her hand, and I see her every day…
And it looks so funny. For me, you know?

Here I am again man… Oh Yes… You Know
People are weird here
What I'm doing here, what I'm doing here!
Yes… watching the People, Oh! I didn't remember,
Where are my glasses, where are my glasses!
But the big, big true is… I don't wear glasses
And I'm guilty too…

Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now

Oh! Please don't tell me if I'm wrong or right
Cause I'm lost watching what you people do
From the people all around
We're living, living
Living living all together
Living living all together (Here we are)
Living living all together (You and me)
Living living all together

Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now

Oh! Please don't tell me if I'm wrong or right
Cause I'm lost watching what you people do
From the people all around
We're living, living
Living living all together
Living living all together (Here we are)
Living living all together (You and me)
Living living all together

Neighbor! We are living in this place now
Neighbor! We are living in this place now

Neighbor! We are living in this place now

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Laghonia's "Neighbor" examine the experience of living in a large, communal setting. The singer describes observing the people and their behavior, highlighting their quirks and oddities. The lyrics convey a sense of bemusement at the antics of the people around them and a sense of feeling lost or disconnected from the community. As the song progresses, the singer asserts that they are a part of the community and that they are all living together. The repetition of the refrain "Neighbor! We are living in this place now" underscores this sense of collective existence.

The lyrics of "Neighbor" can be read as a commentary on the challenges and rewards of communal living. The song acknowledges the difficulties of living in close proximity to others, such as the annoyance of a neighbor's loud dogs or feeling lost in a sea of unfamiliar faces. However, it also celebrates the sense of belonging and shared experience that comes with living in a community. This tension between the positive and negative aspects of communal living is expressed through the song's upbeat melody and the singer's ambivalent tone.

Overall, the lyrics of "Neighbor" offer a nuanced reflection on the complexities of communal living. The song captures the sense of both frustration and connection that can come with sharing a living space with others.

Omar Luna

@Har09if No suena a rap, más bien el funk tira un poco más a eso.

Victor Hugo Flores Villacorta
