Laika's song Coming Down Glass features lyrics that describe the challenges of trying to love someone with a doubtful mind and a cold heart, someone who has been hurt by a past love. The singer is trying to prove their love to this person, but they are constantly met with skepticism and doubt. The pain and sadness felt by the singer is evident in the lyrics.
The first verse expresses the singer's effort to convince the person they love that they are their "every dream." However, the person is so haunted by their past that they cannot see the singer's intentions as anything other than an "evil scheme." The singer feels exasperated and wishes they could "free" the person from their doubts and "melt" their cold heart.
The second verse reveals that the person's past lover had hurt them deeply, and now the singer is suffering the consequences of that pain. When they argue, hurtful things are said that cause tears to fall. The chorus repeats the idea that the singer wishes they could mend their lover's broken heart and bring them closer together, but they are unable to do so because of the lingering pain from their past.
In his haunting, melancholic song, "Coming Down Glass”, Laika also subtly references the country classic “Cold, Cold Heart,” originally written by Hank Williams Sr in 1951.

Laika wrote “Coming Down Glass” following a conversation about the possibilities of parallel universes with a friend.
The song was released as a double A-side single on London’s Little Miss Echo Recordings on June 14, alongside “She’s Great Isn’t She,” produced by fellow East Londoner Dan Carey.
The song’s release coincided with Laika’s debut performance at Field Day festival in London on June 7.
Laika was named one of the 20 most exciting new artists in the world by the UK’s leading new music discovery platform, Metropolis Music.
