If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will
To see her is to take a sudden chill
Cruella, Cruella
The curl in her lips, the ice in her stare
The innocent children better beware
She's like a spider waiting for the kill
At first you think Cruella is a devil
But after time has worn away the shock
You come to realize you've seen her kind of eyes
Watching you from underneath a rock
This vampire bat, this inhuman beast
She ought to be locked up and never released
The world was such a wholesome place
Until Cruella, Cruella De Vil
At first you think Cruella is a devil
But after time has worn away the shock
You come to realize you've seen her kind of eyes
Watching you from underneath a rock
Cruella De Vil, Cruella De Vil
If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will
To see her is to take a sudden chill
Cruella, Cruella
The curl in her lips, the ice in her stare
All innocent children had better beware
She's like a spider waiting for the kill
Look out for Cruella De Vil
Lalaine's song Cruella De Vil, from the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians, is a musical tribute to the infamous and ruthless villain Cruella. The lyrics describe her evil persona and the fear that she can instill in everyone who crosses her path. The opening lines "Cruella De Vil, Cruella De Vil - If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will" introduce the character as the ultimate symbol of evil. The song goes on to describe how her curling lips and piercing stare make the innocent children quake with fear. The line "she's like a spider waiting for the kill" emphasizes her predatory instincts and the danger she poses.
The second verse of the song tries to rationalize why Cruella is the way she is. The lyrics suggest that she may have been hiding in plain sight all along, but it took a while for people to realize her true nature. The lines "this vampire bat, this inhuman beast - she ought to be locked up and never released" suggest that she is beyond redemption and should be locked away forever. The song paints a picture of a world that was once peaceful, but has been thrown into chaos because of the likes of Cruella.
Overall, Lalaine's song Cruella De Vil is a dark and ominous musical tribute to one of Disney's most iconic villains. The lyrics create a vivid and terrifying image of a character who is evil incarnate.
