The band started out back in 1996. Todays band composition came together in 1998. The band has put their emphasis on being a smashing live band, something they proved when they hit the stage at by:Larm (equivalent to "South by South West" in the US and "In the City" in the UK) in Tromso, Norway, in 2001. They played together with Norwegian bands Farout Fishing and Drunk, and both the media and the crowd enjoyed themselves at the spectacular show Lame Ducks put on.
In May 2001 the band head out to tour with UK ska-punk act SPUNGE. On their Norwegian leg of the tour, the band did 4 shows with Spunge, and this ended up as being their break thru in Norway.
In May/June 2002 the band did their first two tours in Europe. They played 15 gigs in Germany and Switzerland. In the summer of 2002 they played at Arvika festival in Sweden – with bands like Amulet, Bombshell Rocks and Division of Laura Lee.

BTW: The new line up from the band are a bit different from the are you lame....album. Old members are: Anders (vocal,guitar) Glenn (guitar,vocal) Larsen (bass), new members are Steffen (drums, from another great band called Upstrokes) Marius and Heimdal (both on trumpets) The old drummer Karsten is now playing bass in a hardcore band called Serenity Trace!

The band had a reunion last year! They played a few gigs around Norway, only a a few weeks ago they played at Garage in Oslo! Do you have the 3 other albums? Virgin Session, Pick it Up and Duck Season?

@rancidrufus Yes I come from Norway! Actually from the same suburb as the band. They used to have a rehearsel space in the basement of the local youthclub. I have many fond memories of hearing them play, when I was about 12-14years old! The last year I've been their main merch-salesman during giggs, which has been ALOT of fun :D The only release of The Troikas that I know of: is a song on a local RNR complication CD.The song is called Superstar, and It´s a tune that Lame Ducks used to play live

@rancidrufus Yep! that's the album tha came before Pick It Up! Most of the tunes are different versions than those who ended up on PIU! Where do you live? I may have a spare if you are interested :)I also recommend The Troikas! Wich consist of most of the members from Lame Ducks after they split up.
