National Anthem
Lana Del Rey Lyrics
Money is the anthem, of success, so before we go out
What's your address?
I'm your national anthem, God, you're so handsome
Take me to the Hamptons, Bugatti Veyron
He loves to romance 'em, reckless abandon
Holdin' me for ransom, upper echelon
He says to be cool but, I don't know how yet
Wind in my hair, hand on the back of my neck
I said, "Can we party later on?" He said, "Yes" (yes, yes)
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Ooh yeah, baby, bow down, makin' me say, "Wow," now)
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Sugar, sugar, how now, take your body downtown)
Red, white, blue's in the sky, summer's in the air
And baby, Heaven's in your eyes
I'm your national anthem
Money is the reason we exist
Everybody knows it, it's a fact, kiss, kiss
I sing the national anthem
While I'm standing over your body, hold you like a python
And you can't keep your hands off me, or your pants on
See what you've done to me, King of Chevron?
He said to be cool but, I'm already coolest
I said to get real, don't you know who you're dealing with?
Um, do you think you'll buy me lots of diamonds?
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Ooh yeah, baby, bow down, makin' me say, "Wow," now)
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Sugar, sugar, how now, take your body downtown)
Red, white, blue's in the sky, summer's in the air
And baby, Heaven's in your eyes
I'm your national anthem
It's a love story for the new age
For the six-page, we're on a quick, sick rampage
Winin' and dinin', drinkin' and drivin', excessive buyin'
Overdose and dyin' on our drugs and our love
And our dreams and our rage
Blurrin' the lines between real and the fake
Dark and lonely, I need somebody to hold me
He will do very well, I can tell, I can tell
Keep me safe in his Bell Tower Hotel
Money is the anthem of success
So put on mascara and your party dress
I'm your national anthem, boy put your hands up
Give me a standing ovation
Boy, you have landed, babe, in the land of
Sweetness and danger, queen of Saigon
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Ooh yeah, baby, bow down, makin' me say, "Wow," now)
Tell me I'm your national anthem
(Sugar, sugar, how now, take your body downtown)
Red, white, blue's in the sky, summer's in the air
And baby, Heaven's in your eyes
I'm your national anthem
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success

"National Anthem" is the fifth single from Lana Del Rey's major-label debut studio album, Born to Die.
The music video for the song depicts Del Rey as Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy, and A$AP Rocky as John F. Kennedy. It portrays the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The concept of this song seems to involve Lana expressing her feelings for two distinct lovers, alluding to the life and death of President John F. Kennedy and the love triangle in between. Mr. Kennedy’s love for Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe was fun, crazy and passionate. This may have been charged even more so by the fact that it was an affair “behind closed doors” and one with one of the most sought after women in the world at the time. However, on the other side there was the love he had for his wife, Jackie Kennedy. That was true and pure (at least publicly), he may have even taken it for granted. Jackie was his supporter and was his soul mate, pushing him towards success and greatness both as a man and in his career. Marilyn was seemingly more sporadic, eccentric and glamorous; exactly the opposite of Jackie Kennedy. But to Mr. Kennedy they were both meaningful parts of his life and great lovers.
According to Songfacts, Grant described to newspaper The Sun how she can relate to the song about her personal life:
"I’ve been with this guy off and on for a long time, but we used to just drive from New York in his car up to the Hamptons. I remember thinking at the time it was just heaven. It’s funny, all the songs are about the same thing — going away with the one you love and then coming back home. In having relationships, you’re able to explore other sides of yourself."
On November 24, 2021, “National Anthem” was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday, Mr. President
Happy Birthday to you
Thanks, Mr. President
For all the things you’ve done
The battles that you’ve won
The way you deal with US Steel and our problems by the ton
We thank you so much
Everybody

Sings like Marilyn, looks like Priscilla, and acts like Jackie. This video is still golden after a decade.
I
They do look alike like wth. She really does look like the younger version of Priscilla Presley. She was probably using that knowledge to her advantage as a point of reference to her look here in this magnificent music video. Also the "Happy Birthday" singing was a reference to Marylin Monroe singing "Happy Birthday" to the president
