National Anthem
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

Money is the anthem, of success, so before we go out
What's your address?

I'm your National Anthem, God, you're so handsome
Take me to the Hamptons Bugatti Veyron
He loves to romance 'em, reckless abandon, hold me for ransom, upper echelon
He says to "Be cool" but, I don't know how yet, wind in my hair
Hand on the back of my neck
I said, "Can we party later on?" He said, "Yes"
Tell me I'm your National Anthem (ooh yeah, baby, bow down, makin' me so wild now)
Tell me I'm your National Anthem (sugar, sugar, how now, take your body downtown)
Red, white, blues in the skies, summer's in the air and baby, Heaven's in your eyes
I'm your National Anthem

Money is the reason we exist
Everybody knows it, it's a fact, kiss-kiss

I sing the National Anthem
While I'm standing over your body, hold you like a python
And you can't keep your hands off me, or your pants on
See what you've done to me give me Chevron
You said to "Be cool" but, I'm already coolest
I said to "Get real, don't you know who you're dealing with?
Um, do you think you'll buy me lots of diamonds

Tell me I'm your National Anthem (ooh yeah, baby, bow down, makin' me so wild now)
Tell me I'm your National Anthem (sugar, sugar, how now, take your body downtown)
Red, white, blues in the skies, summer's in the air and baby, Heaven's in your eyes
I'm your National Anthem

It's a love story for the new age
For the six-page, we're on a quick, sick rampage
Winin' and dinin', drinkin' and drivin', excessive buyin'
Overdose and dyin' on our drugs and our love and our dreams and our rage
Blurrin' the lines between real and the fake
God can only, I need somebody to hold me
He will do very well, I can tell, I can tell
Keep me safe in his belltower hotel

Money is the anthem of success
So put on mascara and your party dress

I'm your National Anthem, boy put your hands up, give me a standing ovation
Boy, you have landed, babe, in the land of, sweetness and danger, queen of Saigon

Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome, money is the anthem
Of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome, money is the anthem
Of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome, money is the anthem
Of success
Money is the anthem, God, you're so handsome, money is the anthem
Of success

And I remember when I met him, it was so clear that
he was the only one for me.
We both knew it, right away.
And as the years went on, things got more difficult --
we were faced with more challenges.
I begged him to stay. Try to remember what
we had at the beginning. He was charismatic, magnetic,
electric and everybody knew it. When he walked in
every woman's head turned, everyone stood up
to talk to him. He was like this hybrid, this mix of
a man who couldn't contain himself.
I always got the sense that he became torn
between being a good person and
missing out on all of the opportunities that life could
offer a man as magnificent as him.
And in that way I understood him
and I loved him.
I loved him, I loved him, I loved him.
And I still love him.
I love him.

how did she do that. Lana literally came into the music industry with a completely unique style, absolutely NO ONE was doing this type of music. I'm amazed. Who produced this ?? Seriously, I've known her for 10 years but it's only now that i'm realizing how actually INSANE THIS IS, THE CREATIVITY IT REQUIRES. OMG.

@Laura Vittadini I know but I said she left it to live among people she thought was right. Plus as a teen, she would stay out at nights drinking and doing drugs that’s why they sent her to boarding school. I never said she wasn’t rich I’m saying she just avoided that

Laura Vittadini

@𝐵𝐿𝑈𝐸 After "Lana" (Lizzy) finished high school, her father bought Lizzy and (her sister) Chuck a multi-million dollar apartment in midtown Manhattan. He was paying for her to go to college at the time when she decided to go into music instead. She moved to a trailer park 20 minutes away from the city in the state of New Jersey to know what it feels like to be poor, and have more creativity for songs. She's always been EXTREMELY wealthy, though. I hope this helps! 🕊
