My eyes are wide like cherry pies
I got sweet taste for men who're older
It's always been so it's no surprise
Ah he's in the sky with diamonds
And it's making me crazy
All he wants to do is party with his pretty baby
Come on baby, let's ride
We can escape to the great sunshine
I know your wife and she wouldn't mind
We made it out to the other side
We made it out to the other side
We made it out to the other side
Come on come on come on come on come on baby
Woah ah yeah
I fall asleep with an American flag
I wear my diamonds on Skid Row
I pledge allegiance to my dad
For teaching me everything he knows
Ah he's in the sky with diamonds
And it's making me crazy
All he wants to do is party with his pretty baby, yeah
Come on baby, let's ride
We can escape to the great sunshine
I know your wife and she wouldn't mind
We made it out to the other side
We made it out to the other side
We made it out to the other side
Drug, suck it up, like Vanilla Ice is
Don't treat me rough, treat me really nice-is
Decorate my neck, me, I'm on decisis
Why, come on come on come on
Oooh...
Yeow!
Come on baby, let's ride
We can escape to the great sunshine
I know your wife and she wouldn't mind
We made it out to the other side
Come on baby, let's ride
We can escape to the great sunshine
We made it out to the other side
We made it out to the other side
Come on come on come on baby
Come on come on come on baby
Woah ah
My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola
Oooh... ah
My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola
Oooh...
My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola
Oooh... woah... yeah
The lyrics of Lana Del Rey's "Pussy" are charged with explicit sexual imagery and an array of cultural references. The opening line "my pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola" invokes a sensual image of taste and pleasure. The following lines "my eyes are wide like cherry pies, I got sweet taste for men who're older, it's always been so it's no surprise" suggest that the singer is an aesthete who revels in beauty and maturity.
The reference to "he's in the sky with diamonds" is a nod to the Beatles' song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," which was popularized as a drug anthem. Lana hints at her drug experimentation and the allure of the counterculture. The line "I fall asleep with an American flag" represents patriotism and pride in her country. However, her juxtaposition of the American flag with her diamonds in Skid Row highlights the duality of her persona: glamorous and rebellious, traditional and subversive.
The chorus "come on baby, let's ride, we made it out to the other side" delivers a message of liberation and escape from the mundane. The notion of making it out to the other side suggests that the singer has overcome obstacles and has reached a place of freedom. Overall, the lyrics of "Pussy" explore themes of sexuality, rebellion, aesthetics, and liberation.
