Your Band Is All the Rage

You loved me better one year ago
Don’t let me down
Don’t let me down so low
But I won’t be ashamed if you leave me
Won’t be all that mad if you go
‘Cause I know
Yes, I know
You’re always spending all that stupid time with your band on the road
But your band is all the rage
So I’ve been told
But you can still come home
You can still come home when you want
And I won’t be ashamed to take you back
Yea, won’t be ashamed to put a kiss on your lips
‘Cause I know, I know
Boy don’t call me up quickly on the phone
It’s been five nights since I’ve heard the tone of your voice
You were a tike, everything’s alright
But we both know, we both know that it’s not
And it’s far from ever being good again
But I’m gonna love you forever
If you come back I’ll take you back in baby
Back in baby
Back in… back in…
I love you more than I will even know
You’re so special
I guess that’s why you got it where you go but
When you get real big baby
Remember that little old cowgirl
Waiting for you back in that red river valley
Waiting back in that Tallahassee
I love you…
In Lana Del Rey's song "Your Band Is All the Rage," the lyrics detail the singer's struggles with her lover who is a musician in a band. The song explores the idea that musicians may become consumed by their love for music and their desire for fame, often at the expense of their romantic relationships. The first verse expresses the singer's feelings of being neglected by her lover, as he spends all his time on the road with his band. She reminisces on the past when he loved her better and pleads for him not to let her down so low. However, she also acknowledges that she won't be ashamed if he leaves her, as she knows she cannot keep him from his passions.
The second verse reveals a sense of anger on the singer's part, as she talks about her lover not calling her for five nights, and how things are far from being good again between them. Despite the arguments and the distance between them, she still loves him and is willing to take him back. The song ends on a heartfelt note, with the singer confessing her love for her lover and asking him to remember her when he becomes famous.
Overall, "Your Band Is All the Rage" is a poignant reflection on the complexities of relationships and the sacrifices that individuals are willing to make for the people they love.
