Lana Lane grew up in a very music-oriented family, with the sounds of her mother's voice and the radio constantly filling the air. Naturally, Lana picked this up and started becoming seriously interested in singing in high school. She moved to Los Angeles to further her career where she met future husband, music producer, and synth/keyboardist Erik Norlander. The two eventually founded their own production company/record label Think Tank Media to release their work. She has produced many recordings using a many guest musicians such as Pain of Salvation's Kristoffer Gildenlow.
Arjen Anthony Lucassen, mastermind of Ayreon, Ambeon, Stream of Passion, and Star One, took note of Lana's voice, and the two have collaborated on a few projects together. Arjen took a part in the writing of Tarot, and Lana did guest vocals on Ayreon's Universal Migrator albums, for example.
Lana has produced many albums over the years, though Secrets of Astrology and Queen of the Ocean are the most widely known.

I was lucky to see Alice Cooper’s Welcome to My Nightmare tour in ‘75 with he and Steve Hunter on guitars.
Tokyo Blade Tokyo Blade…has such supercharged guitar playing with some killer solos throughout.

This is truly mind blowing with great musicianship every step of the way. And the late Shawn Lane was an amazingly fast guitar player…maybe the fastest I have ever heard !!! But he is melodic as well. Works well with the bass too.
It’s great to hear a power trio do Jazz Fusion.
Nothing against horns or keyboards, but the songs never let up. The intensity makes this a mandatory listen for anyone subscribing to the Sea of Tranquility !!!

Went and listened to this album. Wow, really enjoyable. This is exactly the sort of soaring melodic hard rock I like. Obviously I've had nobody pointing me in the right directions for decades. Great choice Pete. I actually discovered Lana Lane via Ayreon and love her stuff. I agree this is probably her best, though I think Secrets of Astrology comes close. Her live stuff is pretty impressive as well.

Own a lot of her albums. I love covers albums so Gemini is probably my favorite. Non-covers album would probably go with Garden of the Moon.
Here's one tying into your "Homework" show and Yes clones. British prog band, Druid. Put out 2 albums the first of which was Toward the Sun (1975), probably the best of the two.
