Lana Lane grew up in a very music-oriented family, with the sounds of her mother's voice and the radio constantly filling the air. Naturally, Lana picked this up and started becoming seriously interested in singing in high school. She moved to Los Angeles to further her career where she met future husband, music producer, and synth/keyboardist Erik Norlander. The two eventually founded their own production company/record label Think Tank Media to release their work. She has produced many recordings using a many guest musicians such as Pain of Salvation's Kristoffer Gildenlow.
Arjen Anthony Lucassen, mastermind of Ayreon, Ambeon, Stream of Passion, and Star One, took note of Lana's voice, and the two have collaborated on a few projects together. Arjen took a part in the writing of Tarot, and Lana did guest vocals on Ayreon's Universal Migrator albums, for example.
Lana has produced many albums over the years, though Secrets of Astrology and Queen of the Ocean are the most widely known.
Queen of the Ocean
Lana Lane Lyrics

In autumn rain's
Winds of change
And underneath the waters still and dark
I swear I saw her face
Lay me down in leaves of grass
Where ocean air
And up above where the rainclouds gather round
I swear I saw her face
And when it thunders
She will return here again
Queen of the ocean
Enter the pale sovereign
Floating on silver waves
Let pools of tears
Release your fears
Walk behind the sky's deep yellow moon
And there you'll see her face
And when it thunders
She will return here again
Queen of the ocean
Enter the pale sovereign
And under the blue skies
A daydream rushes by
And down in the ebbtides
Reflections caught my eye
The lyrics of Lana Lane's Queen of the Ocean describe the singer's experience on a ship sailing across the sea. The sea is calm, and the skies are overcast with autumn rain, indicating that change is in the air. As they journey forth, the singer has a vision of the queen of the ocean beneath the dark water's surface. She seems to be beckoning the singer, suggesting that she has a role to play in their journey.
The next stanza describes the singer's desire to be laid down in grass near the ocean where the wind can blow through her hair. She seems to believe that this connection with nature will bring her closer to the queen of the ocean. She continues to describe seeing her face in the thunder and across the sea. The chorus repeats the idea that the queen of the ocean will return with the thunder, and then the verse continues with more imagery of waves and the moon. The final line of the song leaves us with the impression that even when the daydream is gone, there is still a sense of the queen's presence.
Overall, the song is a tribute to the power of nature and the feminine spirit. The queen of the ocean represents the life-giving force of the water element, and the singer's journey to connect with her represents our own human desire to connect with nature and the divine. The song's lyrics inspire us to be open to the mystery of this world and to seek out its hidden wonders wherever we can find them.
