With origins as an experimental project that recontextualized the more ominous aspects of modern pop music made by women (like that of Lana Del Rey), Lana Del Rabies' music incorporates industrial, gothic noise and metal, with experimental, darkwave and ambient elements. Her work thematically embodies discordant spaces between the occult and the political, personal trauma and collective grief, and brutality and benediction.
Tender Creatures
Lana del Rabies Lyrics
You say that I’m the serpent
When really, we're just prey
Such lost and tender creatures
Craving a hand that saves
And in the garden of bodies
Under heavy skies
You followed me
So unsure why
You said
That there’s no god
But god
If only you knew what I saw
Between Black Walls
Just creatures in
Black Walls
And in the garden of bodies
Did you follow a trail of honey
Or do we just bleed
I can see you now
Even though you can’t be found
Between black walls
You say that I’m the serpent
When really we're just prey
Such lost and tender creatures
Craving a hand that saves
And I know that there’s no god
But god
If only you knew what I saw
When really, we're just prey
Such lost and tender creatures
Craving a hand that saves
And in the garden of bodies
Under heavy skies
You followed me
So unsure why
You said
That there’s no god
But god
If only you knew what I saw
Between Black Walls
Just creatures in
Black Walls
And in the garden of bodies
Did you follow a trail of honey
Or do we just bleed
I can see you now
Even though you can’t be found
Between black walls
You say that I’m the serpent
When really we're just prey
Such lost and tender creatures
Craving a hand that saves
And I know that there’s no god
But god
If only you knew what I saw

@InRelativeObscurity
Great minimal approach to the video. Love the ethereal / brutal but still melodic aesthetic.
@Siren220
what does melodic aesthetic mean
@InRelativeObscurity
@@Siren220 It means it's industrial/harsh, yet still melodic.
@Siren220
@@InRelativeObscurity how can something visual be melodic
@InRelativeObscurity
@@Siren220 I guess I was referring to the music as well.
I'm sorry, did I offend you? 😂
@InRelativeObscurity
@@Siren220 also lots of buildings/architecture have both rhythmic and "melodic" features to them. Idk. Sorry if my comment was stupid or something.
@Smell-O-Vision-Citrus
This is seriously great stuff, that ending is haunting. I can definitely hear an influence in your work from Kristin Hayter and a few others, and I'm LOVING how unique and drone-y everything gets on here.
@DaisySmith-l9o
