It could happen to you if you're young at heart
For it's hard, you will find
To be narrow of mind if you're young at heart
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh while your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
Don't you know that it's worth
Every treasure on earth to be young at heart
For as rich as you are
It's much better by far to be young at heart
And if you should survive to a hundred and five
Look at all you'll derive out of being alive
And here is the best part, you have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart, heart
Young at heart
The song "Young at Heart" by Landon Pigg speaks to the idea that maintaining a youthful attitude and perspective, regardless of age, allows for a more fulfilling and adventurous life. The opening lyrics, "Fairy tales can come true, It could happen to you if you're young at heart," suggest that keeping an open mind and a willingness to take risks can lead to unexpected opportunities and outcomes. The following line, "For it's hard, you will find, To be narrow of mind if you're young at heart," highlights the importance of remaining flexible in thinking in order to continue to grow and learn.
The second verse reinforces this idea, noting that those who are young at heart are unafraid to dream big and pursue seemingly impossible goals, even if they ultimately fail. The chorus returns to the central theme, emphasizing that being young at heart offers a richer and more satisfying life, regardless of one's material wealth. Finally, the closing lines suggest that even those who live to a very old age can continue to find joy and meaning in life if they have maintained a youthful outlook.
Overall, "Young at Heart" encourages listeners to embrace a childlike sense of wonder and curiosity in order to fully experience all that life has to offer, regardless of age or circumstance.
