Cinderella
Langhorne Slim Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Yes my handsome fella?
Are you my girl?
You know I am
Do you feel good?
I feel alright
That makes me feel good
Outta sight
When you feel left out
I know what that's all about
Wanna get left out with you
Cinderella
Yes my handsome fella?
Are you my girl?
You know I am
Oh honey, do you feel good?
I feel alright
That makes me feel good
Outta sight
Oh, when you feel left out
I know what that's all about
Wanna get left out with you
All alone
Walk home
Way down that old suburban road
You took me by surprise with that sweet look in your eyes tonight
Cinderella
Yes my handsome fella?
Sure you’re still my girl?
You know I am
Oh honey, do you feel good?
I feel alright
That makes me feel good
Outta sight
All alone
Walk home
Way down that old suburban road
You took me by surprise with that sweet look in your eyes tonight
The song "Cinderella" by Langhorne Slim is a love song that speaks of feeling good and being able to connect with your loved one on a deeper level. The song begins with a question from the singer asking his lover if she feels good, to which she responds that she feels alright. The singer takes her response as a good sign that he is also feeling good and things are outta sight. The chorus repeats the question "Cinderella, yes my handsome fella?" and "Are you my girl? You know I am," affirming their love and connection.
The second verse of the song speaks of feeling left out and wanting to feel that way with his lover. The singer seems to understand the feeling of being left out and wants to share that experience with his lover. The bridge of the song speaks of feeling alone and walking down an old suburban road. However, the sweet look in his lover's eyes is enough to make him feel alive and connected again.
In a sense, the song speaks of the deeper connection that can be felt between two people when they are truly in love. The sense of understanding and being able to share all experiences, even the bad ones, is what makes their love meaningful and special.
