Stand by Your Man
Lannie Garrett Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
giving all your love to just one man.
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times,
Doin' things that you don't understand.

But if you love him you'll forgive him,
even though he's hard to understand.
And if you love him Oh be proud of him,
'Cause after all he's just a man.

Stand By Your Man,
Give him two arms to cling to,
And something warm to come to
when nights are cold and lonely.

Stand By Your Man,
And tell the world you love him.
Giving all the love you can.
Stand By Your Man.

Stand By Your Man,

And show the world you love him.
Keep giving all the love you can;

I'm 100% with you miat. Thanks for taking the time to inform people. This is the most important campaign (at least in my lifetime) and I have strong convictions and look forward to a female president but I know that HRC is not the woman and putting the Clingons back in the white house is a detriment to America and its people.

2/4 DeLong continues: "Heading up health-care reform was the only major administrative job she has ever tried to do + she was a complete flop at it. She had neither the grasp of policy substance, the managerial skills, nor the political smarts to do the job she was then given. And she wasn't smart enough to realize that she was in over her head and had to get out of the Health Care Czar role quickly. There is no reason to think she would be anything but an abysmal president."

3/4 Also note that hillary flunked the DC Bar exam, which had a 67% pass-rate. (See the Bernstein book on this. Indeed, see her own turgid tome. (Not the audiobook, however. Perhaps the thinking was that literacy and gullibility are inversely related.)) She did, however, pass the Arkansas Bar, (80-90% pass-rate) and the rest is history, albeit revisionist.

4/4 In fairness, missus clinton did succeed at something: Strengthening the Republicans. Her fiasco delivered Congress to them for the 1st time in 40 yrs and it was her brilliant tactic, (not to settle the Jones v. clinton sexual harassment case), that led inexorably to hubby's impeachment. And talking about the husband, anything that can be remotely construed as an achievement by her is, in fact, derivative-the very antithesis of feminism. She is a not-especially bright fraud and incompetent.

P.S. At best, missus clinton is an uninspired bureaucrat. (I would be remiss here were I not to reference Toni Morrison's damning of missus clinton's little mind with faint praise. Check out Morrison's endorsement letter to Obama.) Remember: Mussolini, too, made the trains run on time.

My dear, you just don't get it. That Tammy Wynette accepted the apology, (which didn't issue forth from any (non-existent) clinton conscience, BTW-- Wynette demanded it), is a testament to Tammy Wynette's heart, not hillary clinton's. (This is not to imply hillary has one.) The comment is the crux of the matter. It reveals hillary clinton's true feeling about rural America, about women, about us, in general. And that feeling is utter disdain.

P.S. I confess this is not the first time I've been called "sexiest." ;)

1/4 PR is not IQ. clinton is neither smart nor competent, + as Patrick Healy (NYT) documents, that she is 'experienced' is the real 'fairy tale' of this race. Bradford Delong, clinton administration veteran, Berkeley economist, warns: "My 2-cents' worth and I think it is the 2-cents' worth of everybody who worked for the Clinton Administration health-care reform effort of 1993-1994 is that Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life."

miat1111

An apology can't put the disdain back in the bottle. Just as the clintons' racist scheme post-Iowa exposed their repugnant essence, so too did missus clinton's comment about Tammy Wynette (and women, in general). The clinton are self-serving, racist, sexist lowlifes who have utter disdain for us all. Wake up. Do the research. Ignorant people like you imperil us all. "What kind of people are the Clintons?"--Bob Herbert, The New York Times, Jan. 2008.
