See You Again
Lapdog Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Going 'round in a big old hurry
Hey yeah yeah
It's OK, I don't have to worry
When you get time, you can go over
I'll listen to anything, you know
Going 'round in a big old hurry
Hey yeah yeah
I haven't had the time to say "I'm sorry"
When you get time, you can go over
I'll listen to anything, you know
Yeah, yeah
It's all my fault (Whoa, whoa)
In the end (Yeah yeah)
I will see (Oooo whoa)
You again
Listen to anything, you know
The lyrics to Lapdog's song "See You Again" are open to interpretation but can be seen as an apology from the singer to someone they care about. The lines "Going 'round in a big old hurry/It's okay, I don't have to worry" suggest that the singer has been busy and possibly neglectful of their relationship with this person. The repetition of "Hey yeah yeah" creates a sense of urgency while the subsequent lines show the singer's willingness to make time for the other person and listen to anything they have to say.
Additionally, the lines "I haven't had the time to say 'I'm sorry'/When you get time, you can go over/I'll listen to anything, you know" further reinforce the idea that the singer has been neglectful and is taking responsibility for their actions. The repetition of "Hey yeah yeah" throughout the song also creates an almost mantra-like quality, as if the singer is trying to convince themselves that everything will be okay.
Overall, "See You Again" can be seen as a heartfelt apology to someone the singer cares about and a promise to make things right between them.

Gotta say I love both versions of this song from Lapdog and TTWS. I'm glad I rediscovered this version as I lost it on my iTunes switching computers. Much love for these guys <3.

just an update, this song made the final cut and will appear on the new Toad The Wet Sprocket album "New Constellation", the title was changed from "See You Again" to "I'll Bet On You". Lapdog's version is great, but the Toad version is brilliantly awesome!

I just got my Kickstarter download of the new album, Great stuff! Imagine my surprise when I heard "I'll bet on you" Had to dig out the Laptop CD to compare. This one definitely rocks harder.

I used to have an acoustic (radio probably) version of this that I have never been able to locate after losing it when my CD collection got jacked. If anyone has a copy I would actually buy it from you. It might be ten million dollars; it might be ten dollars.
@kisscatastrophe
Todd rewrote this and re-recorded it for the new Toad The Wet Sprocket album that comes out this summer!
@alpineinc1
Better, harder than Toad's rework. Drums explode, great vocal by Todd.

I never knew this was from a Lapdog album. I do prefer the Toad version, that latest album is perfection.
